Adkins paying the price

McCabe is in "live within our means" mode again.

If we are lucky, this will end like in 2013 when he had to spend to keep us up.

If we are unlucky, it will be like 2011.

Sean,I agree with that but I am not talking about large sums for the next level, I read into their comments meaning money available now, obviously not huge amounts but money available to the current manager to get us out of this division but some comments on here state there is no money and I was wondering is this true? It f so how do they know? Again back to the big stick.
Jim Phibbs said money from the Murphy sale was available yet a few months later McCabe says it has all been spent, things would be more believable if the board members all sang from the same hymn sheet. As things stand none of them seem to know what the others are doing and I for one refuse to believe that evn for a modest outlay we could not have brought in better than the current players at the club, it all point to the fact that once again we are broke financially.

Because even funding Billy and the loan signings this season involved flogging Jamie Murphy. (Added to that that it's likely to get worse next season.)

Unreasonable or realistic?

For giving these wasters a second (third, fourth?!) chance to fail at this club.
I really do feel sorry for him, 99% of these players will never play for a bigger club. infact if it wasn't for him they'd be playing for much smaller clubs already, he gave them a chance and they haven't only let him down from an ability point of view they've let him, us and the club down by not giving a fuck. That's unforgivable.

I think certain people are unhappy how Nige has treat a few of their 'mates' (i.e. got rid) and they're choosing to show that on the pitch. Totally unprofessional as well as a cunts trick. If they want to let their mates ruin their own careers, more fool them.
The only players who can come out of this season are, well, it's just one player. His name is Billy Sharp.

He thought he could polish a turd, sorry Nigel but it's nearly wrecked your reputation. The poisoned chalice. No more Mr Nice Guy, we have to get rid of this poisonous group or we're going to get the same cycle repeating itself. If Collins gets his way he'll end up getting Adkins sacked and this fucking board will make him player manager. Oh fuck... Shudder.

If we get rid of them, and the board let him create a quick, hungry, young team with an experienced spine he might be able to turn it round, but it's time to write this season off.

This isn't Sheffield United. But it will be. Just got to hang on in there.

I wish we could have a definitive list of all the wasters from 1 to 10 , as it does seem to change from week to week .

The only one who has a safe place is Billy . The rest can all be on there way whether or not there contract expires 2016 or 2017 .

Radical surgery is required at the lane . Forget giving these players another chance . If Adkins is not strong and resolute with board and players alike he will get the sack , and rightly so IMO.

Talk into action for Adkins.

Come on, we all know Sammon was a done deal when Clough was at the club, the signings of Woolford and Hammond have been poor so 50/50 for Adkins in the transfer market which isn't too bad as it is now blindingly obvious he never had much money to spend despite what Jim Phibbs says. Adkins has had very little help from any direction within the club and I can see this continuing next season, if ever a manager needed to pull a rabbit out of the hat then Adkins does otherwise he will be yet another fall guy for the useless and clueless McCabe.

You make it sound like the board had admitted it and so far as I am aware they haven't.

Rest if your post is bang on.

I thought it was common knowledge Clough had this deal signed up? Bit of a coincidence after a shitload of rumours since Clough took over he signs for us...
I think it's pretty obvious.

You can agree deals outside the window.

I know all the above but there isn't a hint of actual fact here, just rumour and supposition. There is so much we actually know that is wrong I don't see any good coming of working on theory and rumour.

Blackman - gone and we never replaced
Harry - gone and we never replaced
Murphy - gone and we never replaced

All under different managers but the slide backwards keep on keeping on.

I know who I blame for this situation and it isn't the ridiculously long string of former managers we have had.

Does anyone seriously believe that Adkins signed in the matter of a few weeks the very same player Clough had been chasing after for six months or so ? Just another duffer from Cloughs old Derby stable.

Think he may have been on the radar but I bet you nothing was signed until after Adkins started and I bet you the board sanctioned it with Adkins knowledge.

if we get rid of adkins we go back to the new manager having to look at what we have so we are in the same boat as we where 8 months ago at lest now I hope he knows what we need or we are fucked

Apparently not. The deal was done before Clough was fired.

Precisely, and this is why I won't judge him too harshly yet. Only takes a couple of bad eggs to spoil an omelette and our particular omelette seems to carry an odour of old semen and the consistency of a wet turd. It makes one question where we've been buying our fucking eggs from.

When he puts together his team, then we'll see whether he's really up to the task. There'll be nowhere to hide after that. I hope he's up to it.

The eggs are from the geese surely?

As for the omelette just one bad egg will do it and as for "old" semen, what do you keep in your kitchen store cupboard?

Hammond is 33 today (he shares a birthday with me) no way would he get a three year deal at his age the best he will be offered is a year with possible year option, whether that is with us or elsware.

My view Hammond is a100% cert to be at the club next season . The carrot to be dangled in front of him , is a coaching position.

Are we beginning to see the work he does off the ball as Adkins says . I am still looking but Adkins knows better than me . Got to say I think we look more balanced when the bloke is in the side , which doesn't say much .

There appears to be a hell of a lot of excuses flying about to cover up NA personal shortcomings. Wasn't it his choice to give everybody a new start, yet 35 games in we are supposed to believe he is still actually playing players who aren't giving 100% on match day really? why would a manager continue to do that. The owners stopping him buying young hungry players, yet all his recruitment are around 30, not one fitting that criteria. Not responsible for signing Sammon, yet it's on record he had him scouted when he was at Kilmarnock. Unrest or disruptive players, remove them from first team, why would it still be a problem 35 games in again down to manager, would it have happened under NW and DB not for 2 minutes. NA has underperformed on many levels despite his CV, recruitment, tactics, substitutions, even the basics seem to have disappeared from some of these players. Do we sack him, If we could afford it I'd do it in the blink of an eye, we can't but there certainly has to be some hard talking from above to determine if he is still the manager to move us forward. That raises another can of worms our owners haven't made great decisions so far.

How do the experts on here know Mccabe or the Prince will not be spending for next season? I have read from both mccabe and adkins that there is money to be had for player recruitment, now I know its currently the thing to knock everything about the club while everything is so depressing but do some on here know or are they just saying theres no money but actually don't have the faintest idea.

They said they this season...

And that was a lie.

Also Jim said as much.

No unrest or disruptive players under NW?

Bloody hell his reputation gets better and better the longer he's away!

Didn't Claude Davis hold a knife to Akinbiyi's throat in 2006/07? And that's just off the VERY top of my head.

That's what was in my mind as I read it!

No idea who it helps to keep romanticising the Warnock era.

Did they actually appear in the starting eleven after 35 games.

As I've said above, it doesn't help the current situation we're in to keep romanticising the Warnock era.

And the '35 game' comment would suggest he knew who the 'bad eggs' were from game one.

And also as above, a guy held a razor to another guy's throat and still kept his place.

Apparently not. The deal was done before Clough was fired.

Apparently being the key word here. You can see it now.

"So Kevin, I have complete autonomy over team affairs"
"Of Course Positive Nigel, you are in complete control"
"Thats great, I'm looking forward to maxing the envelope and imparting the wisdom of geese on these players"
"Oh, Nigel. About your first signing?"
"Yes Kevin"
"Its Connor Sammon"
"Fucking Hell Kevin, how did that come about"
"Well you know that bloke before you. The useless one we all hated but gave all the money to then fired him because he was shit"
"Yes Kevin"
"Well we let him sign a player just before we fired him"
"Kevin, why would you do that?"
"Well it seemed only fair"
"Kevin, that is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. You let this guy sign a player before you decided to fire him for being shit?"
"Yes Nigel, we did that"
"Has he actually signed anything yet?"
"No, Nigel but we promised and Big Jim says he will be good at sticking it over the conversion line in the last quarter. Then he said Hup, hup, hup or something, but I didn't get that bit. Then he asked me for grits and I never did find out what that was all about"
"So after Connor theres no one else?"
"Truer words have never been spoken Nigel"

If you think that deal wasn't done well in advance of it being announced, I have 2 words for you: Geoff Horsfield.

I find the above much more realistic than the likelihood that two managers thought signing Connor Sammon was a good idea of their own accord.

Bollocks really? There are no world beaters in this team. .. granted, but why have so many experienced pros collectively "gone on strike". Before the season started everybody, probably including yourself would have said keep the nucleus of squad with addition of centre back, centre mid and striker. I wanted so much for Adkins to succeed but I don't thing he's demonstrated the credentials we all thought he had in the last 30 odd games.

But that's just the point. We shouldn't have needed a lot of additions but this lot have decided that they won't perform even more often than last year. They want fucking off ASAP. Forget whether they like the manager and his technique or not, they are sticking two fingers up at us who pay our hard earned money to watch our club - they're saying simply you lot can fuck off, we don't care how much it upsets you but we're doing fuck all because we don't like the manager.
