Back on the thread topic, Davies would be an excellent signing on a permanent. He's a quality keeper and just what we need as a competitive option for Wes. Won't be costing the earth fee wise and reasonable wages no doubt (apparently he was on £16k a week at Stoke and they are cost cutting and want wages down hence their approval of the deal). Doubt he will be on anything like that at the Lane and we are maybe paying him half that but giving him a 3 year deal which makes it attractive to the lad. Excellent but of business this. Well done Hecky.

Pretty sure he grew up entirely in Germany too. His parents were Bosnian and he obviously had a lot of pride in it and represented them, but he was German.

It's mad the things that stick. I notice that Davies was born in Rinteln, same as Casey, which means they are both military kids as that was the site of a British base in Germany.
