All fair points but how do explain the fact that it's game 40 and the players still look like it's the first time they've played together? Plus, it's April and we still have players who either can't do 90 mins or look knackered after 70 mins...

As much as people want to say Wilder has got us overachieving, i can't help but think Hecky would be getting more of a tune out of Peck, O'Hare, Hamer, Rak Sakhi and Campbell...
Exactly this. Wilder and hecky are basically the same manager. Ones slightly feistier and passionate whilst the other is more professional. Tactcially and in terms of style of play I don’t see too much difference between them. Both are mediocre sadly.

The bloke has brouht it upon himself........

Calling the fans a disgrace etc.............
He called a section of fans a disgrace. For giving the rods to players at the end of the Oxford match. He was right to do so.
It was a shite performance but none of them deserved that.
Walk away in silence and grumble to yourself. Don’t abuse and rod the lads after this season compared to last. It’s not Scunthorpe at home under Adkins. Have some fucking perspective

Mediocre managers do not win promotions.

Well thats bollock as I could name many average managers who have promotions on their CV. Off the top of my head.

Mowbray
Holloway
Warnock
Hecky
Wilder
Dave Jones
Neil Harris
Grayson
Robson

It was like a dozen of people out of the 2000 odd in attendance.

What you don't do is make a big song and dance out of it and let it get in your head and affect you.

As a professional manager he acts and talks extremely unprofessional.

So, by definition, they aren’t average, then?
🤦‍♂️

Slav was very professional.
He was fucking useless.

The Deity across the divide is ultra professional and carries himself with “class,” according to that lot, but the reality is that he’s utter fucking useless in the asylum.

One of the absolute best bits about Wilder is his professionalism coupled with the fact that he is a Blade. And yeah, he wears his heart on his sleeve because that sleeve is brandished with Blades blood, guts, sweat, determination and fucking huge bullocks.

Loads of fans state they wish their manager knew and felt their club like he does his own. Only when we hit a rocky patch do we get ridiculed (fair play to them) but we also get the wet sheet brigade that spout “unprofessional” in a world of corporate robotic bullshit.

Let me enlighten you with some home truths.

We are not one of the big six
We haven’t won a trophy for 100 years.
You don’t follow SUFC for glory
We’ve spent a 6 year spell in the 3rd division, recently.
We’ve just had to rebuild a squad from one of the worst Prem league campaigns in history
We’ve done the double over them lot this season and finished theirs in the process.
The vast majority of us thought this season would be a mid table at best, after the shite from last season.
Leeds and Burnley squads have been assembled with vastly more money than this one.
We started the season on -2

So, to get this far and still be in the mix is way above average and is fucking amazing.

You don’t fucking get there without being professional.

What looked like a Leeds loanee goading Blades away support and Wilder goes to have a word with them. I’ll bet every Blades fan near those two Plymouth lads was telling them to fuck off.

Fucking “unprofessional” my arse 🤬

Spot on. I liked Hecky as a person but always thought of him as a poor man's Wilder. Now I'm starting to think of Wilder as a poor man's Hecky due to his lack of class and dignity.

Slav was very professional.
He was fucking useless.
Slav was not useless, he was mis-sold the job on false promises and not backed in the summer when he was told he would be. It was only when he slammed the club publicly in the media in the last week of the transfer window that they then backed him and brought in the likes of Gibbs-White.

Slav's biggest flaw is that he did what Amorim is doing at Man Utd. He chose a formation and system that he didn't have the players for and shoe horned players out of position and stuck with it. Towards the end he stopped this, went back to a formation that suited what he had and we started to win games again, but the board panicked and sacked him.

He were expected to play a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 with a team that couldn’t play anything that’s not 5 at the back. He got given brass buttons and the lint out the previous owners pocket to then build a team to play his formation.

Slav given the money wilder has pissed away would see this team top two even now. We wouldn’t be pissing away the chance to go up automatically against a team towards the bottom, a team in and around the play offs (with a team far below ours) and a team literally rock bottom. That much I’m confident of.

Wow. That’s what you took from that spell with Slav in charge?
It was the system he wanted to play versus the players we had that didn’t fit that system?
Don’t you understand what Slav’s basic issue was?
Any manager worth their salt delivers a team with the players they have. They assess the skills, strengths and weaknesses and create a team to play to win games of football in an effective manner. Slav didn’t do that at all. Too rigid and one dimensional, which is totally ironic because most of the morons point that very finger at Wilder.

Anyway, on yer man Slav. He’s been so successful since, hasn’t he? 🤦‍♂️

Read the posts, it's not just to do with thr recent results. It's the poor team selections, poor subs, only having one formation and set of tactics, no plan B, players not lasting 60 minutes all season, Wilder taking plaudits when we win then skulking away of having a go at others instead of accepting blame, constant square pegs in round holes, playing Robinson after his recent costly errors, relying solely on luck, grinding out undeserved results, only putting in 5 good 90 minute performances in 42 matches.

It's more than just the last 3 results. Many of these complaints have been made and highlighted all season, but those that did got shot down by the "results matter, not performances" brigade. Now that we're not winning anymore others are starting to see what others have been saying all season.

Wilder is not Sheffield United. He's far from the manager who took over 9 years ago. He's become predictable, stale and negative.

Yes, he's done well to get us up as high as he has, but the argument will always be if he got a consistent tune out of these players, would we be better off. The answer is yes.

No one is willing us to lose. No one is wanting Wilder to fail. But many can see past the red and white biase. Wilder has run out of ideas and it's become obvious when the managers of Oxford, Milwall and now bottom of the table Plymouth have outdone him tactically and Wilder hasn't had a clue what to do midgame to change things. His comments post Oxford ignored the fuse for many.
I agree with just about everything you say. However, I also agree with William Carey. The personal abuse of Wilder is unwarranted and spiteful. Now is the time to support the team. If we want the team to succeed it is the only thing we can do, that might make a difference. The option of turning our backs on them will definitely not help.

So, you’ve stated that he was not useless and then gone on to demonstrate a key reason why he was useless - a point I made in my post. 😂😂

How about 5 fines from the FA this season SO FAR costing the club around £250000 because he can't control his players and a total lack of leadership on the pitch, especially his captain "Superman Robo". After yesterday how much will the next fine be or maybe even a points deduction for continuous "unprofessional behaviour"?

I’ve said before, I’d have been hitting Wilder & the players in the pocket for this shit on every occasion following the first one & seeing how long it continues after that.

Look, with the club in turmoil Wilder was probably the only man able to see what was needed at this club last summer. He got rid of dead wood and the under achievers, then proceeded to build a decent team from the ashes. Although he was the right man at that time, this season has been a tale of two halves…Pre Souttar and post Souttar.
I have never known a single player to have so much influence on a team in such a short space of time. So much so (when he got injured) it made Wilder’s task in the JTW an absolute no brainer.
Sadly, we pulled out all the stops for a striker who patently doesn’t suit our style of play, instead of ensuring we secured our first choice centre back.

Nope
It’s a combination of factors, like everything is.

We were all happy after the derby and Cov

He is 100% responsible for yesterday, he got the starting line up wrong ..picking Cannon for example who has been totally useless for us

Then his subs were Sunday league, JRS was our only threat, tearing them apart and would have gone on to get another goal or two and amazingly he brings him off

Then at 1 1 he just chucked attacking players on with no plan or formation whatsoever and lost us the game ... Reminded me of the England loss to Iceland

All of these threads about Wilder is absolutely fucking disrespectful, i’m sorry but it is.

You do realise how much of a mess we were in at the end of last season don’t you? Wilder completely changed the team around and to get us where we are at this stage of the season I think to get 85 points (not including the -2) after 42 games is unbelievable with a completely revamped squad. Not to mention we did the double over the pigs. Absolutely every Blade would have snatched my hand off if I said this is where we will be in April at the start of the season.

All of you lot saying you want him out and the names i’ve seen Wilder being called on social media is a absolute joke some of you should be ashamed. He’s literally a club legend in my opinion.

Just because we have lost 3 in a row everyone’s spitting their dummy out, seriously?

If we beat Burnley away and they fuck up again then we can still get in the top 2, and we have the play-offs which I know we have terrible luck on but there’s still a chance.

Let’s get behind Wilder and the lads now, fucking come on guys we don’t need this negativity around Wilder. Please leave the Wilder out conversations until the season is over. Everyone is frustrated but we just need to hang in there.

UTB.

(Again this is just my opinion, you can choose whether to agree with it or not, i’m not here to create an argument.)
Wilder should take a lot of credit for last summer's window and for keeping us in the top 2 for the majority of the season and for doing the double over the pigs. I'm truly thankful to him for both his stints at the club and will always hold him in high esteem.

However people have slated the style of play all season (relying on simply having better individuals and then shutting up shop at 1-0) and have said the results have flattered us and without a change in tactics the wheels were bound to fall off. They have been proved right.

Promotion to the Premier League is worth around £170 million, yet on current form we'd struggle to score in a brothel. It's a bit weird to not explore others options to try and get this over line. This is make or break.. it could be the difference between going up to a higher level of existence or down to a much lower one. No room for sentiment and gratitude ahead of sound decision making at a time like this.

It's time that he was spoken to by the club. What happens elsewhere isn't his to comment on and needs his wings clipping about his worsening behaviour. Media people are there for a reason no matter what his ego might choose to ignore

His mates need to be having a word too. Something isn't right and, rather than blowing smoke up his a***, might do well to calm him down a bit.

He's costing us in fines and embarrassment now

Handbags, at best, if you’ve seen them.

Man U & Chelsea get away with that just about every other game.

So we lost ones he started on fans that paid money and it’s not cheap to go to games hard earned cash

It was 68 minutes when, yet again, he decided to try and see out a 1-0 against the bottom team in the league, the team with the worst defensive record. Bring on Kieffer fucking Moore and adopt a sit back and lump it long approach rather than bring on Campbell - sorry but you’re talking nonsense
Players have been seeing out these 1-0 leads all season, so they should have been able to manage it again.

Bringing Moore on, when people on here wanted Moore to be used and given a chance.

Bringing Campbell on later in the match, as fantastic as a season he has had, he's been below his usual standards in the last 2 games.

Robson
Kompany - some people might say average at best
Alex Neil - 1 promotion 10+ years ago (Norwich around 2013 I think) and has hardly done anything since

Jeez, do you really think that a team aspiring to the PL should be happy, on 68 minutes, to try and settle for 1-0 against the bottom team in the league. It’s absolute bollocks

Please enlighten me.

What exactly did Wilder do yesterday that would warrent a fine?

Don't tell me to watch the televised footage because I have watched it and all that's clear is that he exchanged a few angry words with a couple of Plymouth players. If there's fines getting dished out for that then every manager is gonna get fined every week.
