We shouldn't sell unless they're offering something ridiculous.

It seems to be well known that Ramsdale has unbelievable potential.

The thing is, we've had several goalkeepers over the last few years that have had great potential that hasn't been realised. Jake Eastwood, George Willis and George Long have all featured in the England youth set-ups, and the view of most academy watchers was that Willis would overtake Long – that never happened.

I really hope Ramsdale becomes an excellent keeper for us. But currently can anyone say with any certainty that he will become a first team keeper in one of the top two divisions?

His contract situation will dictate though, especially if he's indicated he isn't going to sign a new one. As far as we're concerned tomorrow's probably the last day of his contract - as soon as the transfer deadline passes and he's still here, we'll be resigned to losing him to a tribunal.

It's very disappointing that we've allowed a situation to develop where Ramsdale, Whiteman and Brooks are all out of contract this summer.

Yeah but fear not, we have the great Leon Clarke on a 3 year deal.

I will assume Ramsdale will go for the price of a cup of tea and a packet hobnobs and 15% of any future sale profit. Which means fuck all.

They have offered us something ridiculous....Baxter in part exchange...I knew there was a reason they'd taken him on

I'd forgotten all about his contract situation. In that case we've been typically fucking stupid rejecting a £1.5m bid when he's just going to walk for a tribunal fee in the summer. Oh deary me.

I don't think we will have rejected £1.5m. That would be a high opening bid from Everton. Would like to think we could get more than that but if they offer that I think he'll be gone. Couldn't blame them for accepting that. Can blame them for allowing this situation to develop.

To be fair, we've only sold Adams and DCL, so that's only an estimated £2.7 million coming in, if we can sell Ramsdale for around £2 million, ( and add this to the £8 or so million from match day) it'll go some way in helping the club towards its stated goal of 'standing on its own two feet' and also help, in some small way, rellieve the burden on our co-owners a little.

I'd rather our stated goal was to be a lot more successful on the pitch. But hey - we might be the biggest underperformers in English football but if selling any quality we have means that we can stand on our own two feet, that's great.....

HEY, it's alright spending other people's money, but how much are you willing to put in, personally...eh?

Are you really comparing how much an owner puts in with what a fan puts in? Hey? Bonkers.

HEY! There's no money tree and the owners have put millions in over the years already...why should they spunk more money up the wall?

I wouldn't, would you?

chuck ramsdale in the team for a few games. Give Moore a wake up call. Try and get him to sign a new contract and let them battle for the shirt.

They will have been impressed with how he recovered from his early mistake the other night.

We might as well sell him now. It doesn't look like he's signing a new contract and we won't get much from a tribunal.

Either sell him, or play him. It's not like Moore's been faultless.

After the way he played for 18s&23s last season can't beleave we have let his contract run out ( any ITK know for sure 100% ),it was obviouse to me and I'm sure the club New he was a real star in the making. We must have an option or something to keep him as 1.5 million would be a good price to get as a tribunal would give us peanuts in compo. Best young keeper I have seen in a Blades shirt ( I said this on this forum last season )in 60 years right back to Hodgy who was making his name when my father first took me to the lane.
That's some acolade in my opinion. ,hopefully he will want to stay and be involved with the 1st team, but if he's in a rush to earn big money then I'm afraid
he will go and there's not much we can do even if he were contracted for the next 10 years.

How far off starting would you say he is Finlay? I know that's impossible to answer on Wilders behalf but is he close to being a league 1 standard keeper?

Can't drop a goalkeeper who's having a good season to keep a young keeper happy,Wilder would lose all credabity amongst the rest of the players.
Hopefully Ramsdale is happy at present but he will command a 1st team place next season ,be it with us or some other team.

And now the fun begins..... How serious are we at keeping our best young players now?
We try and do it on the cheap. When

Difficult one to answer but if Wilder had known how good he was before he signed Moore, maybe he wouldn't have signed him.
Still would have been a lot to ask of an 18 year old,but with the interest now shown in him I think he might have gone with him.
Still I don't agree with dropping Moore to keep him,as I have said Wilder would lose the dressing room if he did ,for me that is more important than keeping a star goalkeeper happy.

Finley i totally agree with you, but i think cw should have let ramsdale play in the u23's and keep GL ready if ramsdale got injured for the first team squad.
