A point off the playoffs, unbeaten in last six aways.

The one point chasm that has opened up between the Blades and the playoffs is surely insurmountable. One point, and only 18 games to go.

Same point (roughly) of the season in Danny Wilson's last year, 2013: We'd just drawn away to lowly Notts County. We'd failed to go up to 3rd, remaining 5th, having previously been beaten at home by Yeovil.

I suppose though then we did have the solace of Harry Maguire, Kev McDonald & Jamie Murphy playing for us. Oh, & Nick Blackman..., for a few more days at least.

It's not all bad now. But, without January reinforcements, we'll be lucky to do as well as we did in 2012/13. For Yeovil read Burton.

Very hard fought point I thought, on a heavy pitch.
Only 2 real chances all game, both to us.
We restricted a side who scored 5 last time out at Bloomfield rd to next to nothing.

But we are at a stage where we need to start winning games, hopefully Adkins will add a spark up front before next Tuesday.

The nights highlights, we were solid at the back, resolute etc, and the pre match Fish & Chips were fantastic. ;)

It's becoming so apparent just how many of our fans have taken on such a basement level of expectation.
It's a cryimg shame we are where we are, depressing really. But it is what it is. Expectation alone doesn't change diddly squat unfortunately.

I for one, hope that somehow, against all the odds, plucky little Sheffield United, with our small budget and tiny attendances, can gate crash the big boys of the Third Division and get into the play offs.

Then one day we may join the promised land of second division football.

Probably a pipe dream though.

There are at least 41 other sets of fans who would like to be where we are. Out of all the football teams who plough their furrow up and down this green and pleasant one every weekend, there are only 50 better than us.

Where are Lincoln City and Grimsby Town on this list?

I'll fire up the open top bus?

weve lost once , 3=2 to posh in a game that we could, should have realistically won , in the last 10 games, 2 months
yes we are drawing too many but we arent a million miles away
we just need the spark a couple of players would bring to ensure a play off berth

some peoples thinking we should be giving every team in this division a damn good thrashing are the unrealistic expectations

Doomsday scenario, not quite as we're only 1 point off the playoffs - long way to go agreed.....but.

On closer examination of the league, Millwall in 6th, 1 point ahead, play Crewe at home on Saturday - probably but not definitely a home win, takes them to 46 pts (4 Pts ahead), also they have a game in hand, should they win that (possible but not definite) then it's 7 pts ahead.

All possibles and maybes but the writing is beginning to become visible on the wall.

Couldn't care less if some teams are 50 points in front of us. Doesn't matter that we might be poor and don't deserve promotion.

In the real world it's all about finishing at least 6th, scraping into the final at Wenbley, then scraping a win in the final.

It's funny how even if we win promotion this season some will say we were lucky and already predicting our doom for next season. These types of fans are seriously making it more difficult to progress.

Have you noticed how some clubs have a DNA of being lucky, it's because their fans expect to win playoffs, expect to score late winners and win penalty shoot outs.

Some of our fans throw in the towel when ever we face a challenge.

Been a while since someone has blamed the fans for our predicament.

But it's arguably part of the problem with the club as a whole at the moment.

You can't deny that IF we made it to the PO final, the majority of our fans will go there expecting to lose.

yes as none of the top 6 will lose any games from february onwards , we are doomed

It's only argued by people making excuses for the decision makers at our club who are the ones really at fault.

It's utterly ridiculous to place any of the blame on the fans.

Of course we'd be expecting the worse, it's human nature, but we'd turn up and offer unrivalled support.

Like the support we offered against Swindon at home in the play offs, where we still lost.

I think it started when we were winding up the pigs and saying their predicament under Strafford etc was their fault and they deserved it. It appears that if you repeat something for long enough it becomes fact.

Bert is thinking of slitting his wrists.

I probably shouldn't point out then that if the teams around us win their games in hand, we will be 9th and 4 points off the playoffs having one only 1 of our last 6 games in all competitions.
