This is the sort of game all set up for that "Crewe moment" (or "Yeovil moment") that's become so depressingly familiar.

Under CW? Can't see it happening.
Fuckin ell Alfie, I was feeling sooooooooo positive, see your point, after thoughtful reconsideration we will lose 3-0 :-o :-P

we usually lose these types of matches as small newly promoted L2 teams are our bogey teams. Likes of Stevenage Crawley Exeter or Hartlepool . Especially Fleetwood they thought all their christmas had come at once.

We got our own back now we've offloaded some of our 'underperformers' on them, he who laughs last....

I'd be happy with a 0-0. We haven't bagged a clean sheet in the league yet, which is something I'd like to see some improvement on. They need a win a lot more than we do, so I'd like to see us dig in and frustrate them. We're in a rare position for us recently with this game - We're clearly in better shape than they are. That makes it tempting to go full pelt and try and win 3-0, but that could prove to be costly if we're not careful. I'd prefer to err on the side of caution with this one. If we can grab a 1-0 that's grand, but these plucky little promoted sides always step up a gear against us and even at this early stage, some bet-hedging would be wise. We need the "marathon, not a sprint" attitude tomorrow. Smash Peterborough next week at 'om. Then we're fully up and running.

No offence intended but this typifies just how far our expectations have fallen. We are playing a team in the relegation zone of Lg 1 and the suggestion that we would take a 0-0 is met with indifference. It's not a personal dig but is that really the mentality of a side, or group of fans, with serious designs on promotion? I wouldn't be gutted with a 0-0 but it's certainly not my hope or expectation from a match against Wimbledon. All due respect to them, they have worked wonders to be where they are, and I hope this doesn't come across as arrogance but I think as a club we need to have more belief in our potential. Hard after 6 years of this division I know but we remain the biggest club down here and I think a small time attitude sometimes holds us back.

I'm not one given to over confidence, esp where our Blades are concerned, but I really can see us winning this by two or three. We only need a repeat of that performance against Gillingham, not too much,to ask .....is it ?

If we earn the right to play then we'll score a couple and should win, but it's a big if. Got to match their effort, far too often against these promoted team we haven't done that.

Good to be going into a game with confidence but a draw would be an excellent result - fingers crossed for 2-2.

We have no serious designs on promotion. 0-0 is a realistic hope.

I can . We have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot , go two steps backward , players still in a learning curve , and players with a basic lack of football brain.

Something Wilder appears to be aware of and trying to eradicate . As said before bad habits die hard .

Can we all say hand on heart , nothing surprises us with both results and performances .

United should have the balls to go down there and know that they are the gaffers here. This is the mentality that they should show for every game they play in the old third division. We are the biggest and should be the best in that league. Time for the club to start punching its weight again and to start bullying some in this league. Some teams who have come down have had an arrogance and there is nothing wrong with that (wigan last season anyone?) PROVIDED the better players play with the heart and determination needed to ar least match or exceed their opponents. Winners have arrogance but they also work bloody hard. I want Utd to have/do both. I expect Utd to win every game home or away in this division no exceptions. Obviously i am often disapointed but i still expect the win at 3pm each weekend. Why..? Cos i think my club is better than the rest. Daley Thompson was once criticised for whistling through the national anthem after winning another decathlon...disrespectful and arrogant said the whinging have a go lose gracefully brits. Thompson took the gold. I want to see Utd whistling come May with a huge smile on their faces as arrogant winners.

Oh, 3 - 1 to the red n white wizards (cant keep a clean sheet but we are getting closer i feel) and more confidence gained. Think we will either go up or go very very close this year.

It's about taking it one match at a time. If we'd got off to a flying start and won most of our games, I'd be confident of an easy win today. But we haven't, and so a draw is a fairly reasonable expectation. I wanna get promoted like everyone else does, but we need to actually be in the top half of the table before we can talk about that. We're not bigger than this league, and that's the sort of attitude we need to address each game with, otherwise we won't get anywhere.

We're not bigger than this league....

Agree were not. But we are the biggest club in this league by some distance. About time the club from directors, players downwards had the mentality to match. Provided you match the opposition with effort and application then the better players should win through. United have been held back for too long with small time 'happy for a point' mentality. Screw that we should go hunting for the win all day long and if we dont get it then take the draw.

We have better players and are now playing with a bit more confidence, we shoukd take the game to them and maybe second half after they run out of ideas finish them off, our bench will be strong and a big asset later on 0-2

The force is strong with this one.
