Slave to the NHS.
It feels good to be able to say that we head to Kingsmeadow after two consecutive wins, two wins from behind as well having shown some real grit, determination and passion. Something that we didn't see in abundance prior to the oxford game so I guess we can call it improvement?

Needless to say, one man who we will all remember will be the very frustrating Lyle Taylor who we brought down from Falkirk with huge hopes for him to succeed after being prolific north of the border, needless to say his career with us was some what of a flop. He scored 2 in about 20 games for us and that led to us sending him straight back up north of the border to Partick on loan before finally selling him to Scunthorpe......Funnily enough he drew the same blanks over there and they copied us and palmed him back off to Partick on loan.
Taylor did however find his feet last year with AFC Wimbledon and was a catalyst behind their promotion from League Two (where the hell did that come from?).....He managed 20 goals in 40 games and finished 4th top goalscorer in the whole of the league (Unbelievable Jeff!!)...
When it comes to the transfer market, Wimbledon did all of their summer shopping from the bargain but never the less they were fairly active and brought in 10 players without spending a penny. Ok we aren't talking a fine selection of big hitters and household names however they have managed to add a bit of experience for the step up to league one with the likes of Dominic Poleon (who we know a bit about after his loan spell), Tyrone Barnett (From Shrewsbury, been around and got multiple T-Shirts), and Dean Parrett (Still only 24 but played for a few clubs in this league).
Like us, AFC Wimbledon seem to have found themselves a scapegoat in new goalkeeper in Ryan Clarke who was signed from Northampton Town in the summer. I recall the 34 year old shot stopper having a decent game against us a few years ago when we beat Oxford at BDTBL in the FA Cup, but he seems to be the equivalent of George Long down there at the minute what with the fans getting on his back big time and blaming him for the clubs bad start to the season. The gaffer Neal Ardley gave his public support for the keeper in the press and asked his fans to get of his back.
AFC Wimbledon's form so far (most recent at top)
Wimbledon 2-1 Chesterfield
Wimbledon 3-0 Swansea City U21 (cup)
Rochdale 1-1 Wimbledon
Northampton 0-0 Wimbledon
Wimbledon 1-2 Scunthorpe
Wimbledon 1-2 Bolton
Peterborough 3-2 Wimbledon (cup)
Walsall 3-1 Wimbledon
League Form :- P6, W1, D2, L3, GS6, GC9, PTS5
In form Player:- Lyle Taylor (Would you Adam and Eve it) - 2 goals.
Like us it seems that Wimbledon had a bit of a poor start to the season however they seem to have made a bit of steady progress most recently. A win against a Swansea team in the pisspot cup didn't go without notice as the likes of Emnes and Tabanou played and were taught a bit of a lesson by the hosts.....Then we have the most recent games in the league at home to Chesterfield which was won in a similar style to ours having gone behind in the first half only to come out in the second half and peg them back before going on to win with a last gasp winner from ex blade Poleon. All in all a good three points against a steady Chesterfield team, it continued some good recent form and lifted them out of the bottom three and no doubt gave them a bit of confidence.
Betting:-
AFC Wimbledon 7/4 Draw 9/4 Sheffield United 6/4
I don't suppose the betting is any real surprise really despite the home teams upturn in recent form, after all they are newly promoted and in the bookies eyes we are going to be there or there abouts come May.
Again the odds are a bit wide on the draw front which is down to both teams struggles to keep a clean sheet and again the fixture is being touted around as one that should be included on the both teams to score coupon.
The most popular bet at the minute however is the away win with around 50% of the market share, then we have the draw with the home win not overly fancied.
As for me.....Well I don't like to be on either Sheffield team for obvious reasons however I fancy us to continue the trend with a Sheffield United win and both teams to score bet.
