What is our highest attendance for a friendly?

Some non-football fans in attendance. Girl behind us, aged about 15, two of her classics. 'Do all Sheffield United players have to come from Sheffield' and 'We should let them win because they have come a long way'!!

She's better than the season ticket holder near me, who spent a decent proportion of the first half debating who we'd sold John Fleck to, because he 'wasn't even on the bench'.

*shakes head*

Fantastic attendance for a preseason friendly, and Garysy Sinclairsy said we've sold the more season tickets preseason than ever before so bodes well for continued great attendances.

UTB

Loads of different faces near me on the South Stand. Half had the air of being Kop scumbags seeing how the other half live, the other casual football fans.

She sounds like a Bladey Blade to me, wanting a team full of hoofball park league players from Sheffield, rather than 'cultured' foreign players from Leeds.

To my surprise I sat with the inter fans last night. Woman at turnstile said away fans only, but you can sit there if you want. I must admit it was a nice change of pace and some hot ladies about up there.

You weren't one of the two guys sat to towards the John St stand were you? I saw 2 guys sat in Blades shirts up there.

You never know the newbies may have caught the bug and added to the best supported team in Sheffield.
I was at the river plate game, one great shot from distance that dipped at the last second, 2.1 win for them.

Don’t worry they’ll come home when the season starts. We know our place.

I don't like friendlies and cup games. You get randomers sat near you that annoy you. At least you learn to filter out the normal people. You kind of forgive them, they're Muppets but they're my Muppets.

Last night people infront were moaning at the Ladbrokes advert being too bright and off putting.

I was with my now wife, it’s the one and only game she has been to, and she spent much of the night looking at the clock at the Bramall Lane, counting the time down. One of the best goals I have seen scored at the Lane that night.
Thanks for that Kelsy, I don't feel as bad now I know she wasn't your wife at the time ;)

I was at the River Plate game. Think Woody opened the scoring and they came back. Seem to remember in the second half that River Plate played some great football - 5 World Cup winners in their side.

It was 2 night after we beat Liverpool 1 0 in the League Cup.

Season went downhill from then!

35,000 there I think

Well done her. Was it a solo effort or did she blast one in from 30 yards? I was there but can’t remember her goal. On her only appearance for the club as well. Remarkable.

I was on the kop, actually in the gangways as there was no room at all, when we scored I ended up near the front, I said earlier that Emlyn Hughes was frightened, so was I at that moment, quality night

I was at that game, was quite young, so sat in the South stand. Liverpool (the European Champions) were all over us, our keeper played a blinder that night, brilliant atmosphere, even in the South stand.

Steve Conroy was amazing, hammered us for 80 minutes then bang 1.0 us.

Maybe I was one of them, only sat their as it was my daughters first game, she's 3! Forgive me :(
