If we're really serious about promotion, then winning our home games has to be a priority...

first league match at the lane this season :)
3-1 to the blades IF cotterill and webber start, a bit more pace is needed rather than a defender on the wings, and webber is just better than sharp really

if its the same starting 11, i see a score draw on the cards

One of the few matches I'll be in attendance at this season so hopefully a good performance and win for the Blades

It'll be nice to see the Bramall Lane roar for the first time this season (was more of a whimper last night.)

Cotterill should start and Hendrie hasn't done himself any disservice on his appearances recently - perhaps a bit of fight in central midfield is what we need?

Out:Halford, Tonge, Sharp

In:Cotts, Hendrie, Webbs

Im not chucking Halford out due to his 1 poor game, just think at home we need to be more attacking minded, and all the players in had decent games last night, maybe not as much webber, but hes banging them in :)

I can really see us getting something from this, they looked dodgy in defence against Swindon in the cup (dunno if it was their first choice back four though) and the goals they conceded were pretty soft, they seemed to be a tad vulnerable to crosses.

Keep it solid at the back and with pacey attacks I think we'll get a result

I'd rather put an injured Beattie on than Webber....In fact, i'd rather put BeightonBlade's gert on, she sounds good :p

Got my tickets for this one..well no tickets..just the match added to the adult membership card. Well it better be! £14...very good price.

Can't imagine Blackwell making any changes, maybe Cotts in. Feel sorry for Halford, if Cotts had come earlier he could have started at Rt back instead of Jihai - can't see him getting that position for a while. Hendrie would have little support from Naysmith and Tonge, unlike from Armstrong and Quinn. Not a fan of Quinn but think Hendrie needs somebody to play with going forward; but Hendrie should make the subs bench.

tonge dropped to bench for hendrie and cotts for halford.

I hope there'll be a decent forum turn out at the Lion as well tomorrow :)

New faces ought to come and say hello.

Old faces ought to know that mine's a pint of Carling, ta :D

We should be around from just after midday and we need to reclaim our bench!

You've more chance of plaiting fog than getting any of these tight buggers to buy you a pint.
Especially me.:D:D:D

He was there pigday, unlike said fat boy who lives 1 min away :D

We'll be there, but just a plaintiff cry ..... any of those who were on about bringing their young ones down coming? My youngest is on her way for her first match as a season ticket holder, and she's only 4 and a half.

She's only ever been to two matches before. One aged a few weeks when the youth side got stuffed by Southampton 4-1 in the Youth Cup final (2nd(?) leg), and, strangely, when we beat QPR, of all teams, last year in the league.

She still insisted on a season ticket though :D

Just thought I'd say in case anyone was worried about kids being bored, at least one other will be going ......

Aiming to get to the pub for half 1, at the latest.

That's the way to do it :D

Ledesma... I'm embarrassed for you son :D

An improved performance from Mr Tonge and a quiet second half for all concerned.

SJH is an absolute steal... assured and committed.

Anyone know what's wrong with Morgs?

Anyone know what's wrong with Morgs?

After making the tackle he hit the deck and smashed his head on floor. I can only assume our pitch is hard as nails to have hurt his head :)

SJH, Tonge, Speed, Ugo, Naysmith, Killa, Squinny and Sharp all had good games for me.

:)

Sun was magnificent again. A class above the rest. Was a great all round performance right from the back to the front. Even Paddy on the few occasions he was called upon he was efficient. Only sour point was Halfords disgraceful lunge, should have gone. Maybe he read Keenzys thread on Ainsworth and wanted revenge.

But well done to the lads, Bramall Lane is going to be a tough place for teams to come. But great committed performance, Ugooos tackle was crucial at a time when QPR were threatening. But for all their wealth and signings they were really poor and disappointing.

Still UTB and roll on Blackpool next week and another three points.

Just a quick run down:

Paddy - didn't have much to do but made a good save from their second half freekick. Commanded his box well.

Halford - a steady but not spectacular game from him. Got clattered a few times.

Naysmith - I think many people will overlook him for the MOTM today, but he had a very good game. If anything got past him, he got up and chased it down.

Cotterill - replaced Halford late on. Didn't really get chance to do much but SJH is constantly looking to thread balls down that side for him to run on to.

Morgan - a typical Morgs performance until the injury. If it's a knock on the head, he'll not be out for the next match... there's nowt up there to go dafter than he already is :D

Killa - he's definitely not the Bambi-esqe figure he could be at times last season. A strong and confident display today.

Henderson - he played well today. They could be dirty at times but he was strong enough to hold them off and get the ball moving forwards - which is what we bought him for. Job done.

Webber - brought on to give Sharp his standing ovation. No time to make an impression.

SJH - QPR didn't know how to deal with a two-footed defender who's that good on the ball. While the rest of the defence looked to get rid to midfield to deal with, Jihai seems more forward thinking and wants to spark an attack with every ball he plays. Good appreciation from the Kop for his efforts.

Speed - seemed to lose the ball a few times today but always recovered. A typical Speed performance.

Tonge - had an early run down the right wing and generally looked more interested today. He needs to get a bit stronger in his challenges though and play with a little more confidence. Better though, definitely better.

Sharp - very good. Instead of concentrating on his man today, he never took his eye off the ball... and look what he went and did. First goal came from being in the right place at the right time, he seemed to have borrowed Webber's legs for the second goal and his third, anyone could've put in really in the scramble but he's a poacher and managed to nick it. Quiet otherwise, but he was being kicked by Delaney... a lot.

Quinn - another to receive a few bruises today. Very good both forwards and back.

Ehiogu - assured from the Beast today. Be interesting to see if that challenge late on was a penalty or not... but he did well to get back considering his age.

QPR - embarrassing. A set of overpaid prima donnas who are going to find it extremely difficult in this league if that's the way they want to play. Every time they were dispossessed, they were feigning injury to break up the run of play. Dowie looked as miserable as ever. I concur with the Kop - "You're rich, but you're fucking shit"... unless they were singing that at SV? :D
