Bunn could be excused the poor kick ,he hurt himself mis-hitting the clearance before and carried it the injury for the rest of the game. Morgan was also in trouble with his leg for much of the second half.

Wow, some people really picked man of the match and didn't pick Jamie Ward. Did you guys even go today? He was incredible. That was an immense performance.

....the ref was appalling though!
You noticed then...
My only grumble today was that ref... made 3 shocking decisions.
It was a lot more than three!
Referee was poor
Poor is being very kind to him....

Right, first things first. it's no wonder that managers get dis-chuffed with the officials if the ones on show yesterday were anything to go by. Henderson seems like he's never going to get a decision in his favour no matter what happens. Take the incident near the corner at the Kop end. Two Watford players on him, one had hold of his shirt and almost ripped it off his back. The result? Free kick to Watford. What would it have taken for Henderson to get a decision in his favour, a shooting?

And I too thought Jamie Ward was excellent. Indeed like a little terrier, apart from the balancing the ball on his nose bit.

First post on here so be gentle.

I enjoyed yesterday, but I probably approached it from a slightly different angle than most Blades. The last time I saw the mighty Blades was the play-off against Preston. A stratigically booked holiday saw me swerving the inevitable disaster that was Wembley and I only heard bits of the Boro and Vale games through work.
The Watford game seemed therefore a little surreal and I had to remind myself that we were playing for real and for 3 points. The sight of all the new faces struggling to break sweat against a very poor Watford did little to dispel that feeling. Thankfully, the team were a bit more switched on and they could have had 10 ! Evans goal was class and he showed enough to look like a class above , Treacy seemed to find time and space and Ward scared them rigid. All in all a good start, roll on Tuesday.
One last thought , I sit on the Kop and I thought the fans got behind the lads early on , which was spot on. However, I was bemused and a bit annoyed with the booing of Quinny. Perhaps if I'd spent a fortune going to Wembley I'd understand.

Up the Blades and roll on Tuesday.. and Thursday too (U2).

Great game yesterday! Really good performance from the Blades, thought Wardy was class, chases everything and was great too see him get his first goal at the Lane, although it should have been 2.

Treacy looked very good aswell, running at players and putting balls in the box,Didnt notice Howard much, the back four were awesome.Bunn didnt have too much to do but he has a awesome kick on him!!

Reid looked lively when he came on,loved the boots also!!Roll on Leicester!

Agree Ward was excellent, but Treacy got MOM for me as he ha that extra bit of class oozing out of him, as did Ched and Walker.

Cheds composure in the ball in the box for his goal showed that, you would imagine Webber would have tripped over his own feet and Sharp would have just blazed it first time straight at Loach, thats where that extra bit of quality counts.

Ward was a constant menace and gives us something that no one else can, but Treacy seems to be able to make his own time on the ball, a little body swerve when defending in the forst half bought him that vital extra second to play a good ball down the line, things like that stand out and hopefully this can be the start of what could be a great season in a stronger than normal Championship.

Also with Walker, the co commentator for the 'Boro game stated that if he gets out of position, he is so quick and strong he quickly gets back and remedies the situation. This was so noticable today, once in particular when the ball broke to McAnuff (who's no slouch) and he was goal side of Walker, who despite giving the winger a couple of yards start, managed to get to the ball before him and play it intelligently away, even McAnuff looked shocked! Seems quicker and stronger than Naughton, shame he's only ours for another year, but man what a year it could be!

Right time for the reality check of a 0 0 tuesday night (like Cardiff after QPR next year) but until then, enjoy!

Thhought it was a gretaly entertaining game.

Bunn - couldn't put a foot wrong...or should that be hand...either way...second clean sheet in a row...(ITK - expect to see him in a blades shirt for the remainder of the year!)

Walker - Composed, Quick, Brilliant

Taylor - Fantastic left foot on him and really gaves them the frights with his free kicks!

Treacy and Ward - Amazing on the wings and gave them trouble all day - beautiful to watch!

Monty - Dropped a few clangers but Watford were too poor to capitalize.

Evans - Composed and Clinical! A joy to have in a blades shirt! bring on wednesday! ha ha ha!!!!
