Match day is back and I am buzzing.

Just a result today, no loss a draw or sneaky win. Couldn’t give a fuck who scored then dedicate the win to Hecky for putting up wi some rate shite pre season
I'd take a point, win would be a great start as you say, might need till aftervthe city game for new lads to settle in, fingers crossed, need the crowd get behind them UTB

League 1
Furious Fifth Base skipper JLT Lowe
Vino Ping Ozzy
Osuuuuuuuula Bennie

We could do with not being embarrassingly shit today to help entice new players to the club.... have a feeling Osula will come good today

As with most games this season Palace will have too much for us
Until we get some creativity and goal scorers in the side struggling to see where a goal will come from.
A respectable 2-0 defeat

Wes
Anel Egan Trusty
George Norwood Souza Slimane Lowe
Benie
Osula

2-1 Dem Blades (Benie, Slimane)

getting excited by the sheer challenge ahead
never on the field of football conflict have so many complained about so few
"We shall go on to the end… we shall fight on the bleaches, we shall fight on the training grounds, we shall fight in the football fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”
I'm on my third cigar already😁👍

If lineup comes out and I see a midfield three of Souza, hamer and norwood (for familiarity) I might lose my shit. Blayards are staying up

3 points would be amazing (with our threadbare squad.)
We need to get our points from home games. Keep things tight at the back and nick a winner. A point won't be a bad start.
1-1 with our goal coming from a set piece.

Obviously after 3 points, but gotta wonder if a pasting would be better in the long run - will it give the board motivation to actually spend?
Though Sheffield Wendy for example spent loads of money 30 years ago, then appeared in the high court facing a bankruptcy hearing. Never to grace the PL again for 25 years.
See also Derby County and Sunderland.

Let's spend loads of money - what could possibly go wrong.

Wes
Baldock Anel Egan Trusty Lowe
Slimane Norwood Osborn
Osula Traore

Souza for Slimane after 60 mins
Robbo and Bash for Lowe and Traore/ Osula after 70

0-1

excited & terrified for what's to come, i still think it would be big ask to win today because of players we have available & defending i saw last saturday v Stuttgart, palace with olise & eze have the similar attributes as their no9. a point would be a fantastic achievement

im more positive for survival than i was on Monday, because on the survival barometer ive moved from no chance to some chance. i worry that we will require patience as we will get better as the season progresses, due to the way the transfer window has gone august could be a very rocky month. just hope we dont give ourselves to much to do

if i was to be uber positive, i would say that if last season proved anything there isnt anything to fear. as there was no difference between the newly promoted sides & those established in relegation fight, because you do have Everton, Wolves, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest + 3 promoted sides you have 8 sides fight to avoid filling those 3 spots. but no doubt it'd be incredible achievement if hecky keeps us up. but there's no other manager id rather have leading us

As a likely relegation rival, it's vital that we avoid giving Palace 3 points start. With Hamer and, hopefully, other more creative talents about to strengthen the squad, the brief for today has to be about making ourselves difficult to beat. A battling 0-0 would be a solid result for the time being.

I suspect a slight change in the line up for a lot of this season

Wes
Anel. Egan. Trusty
Baldock. Norwood Souza Lowe
Hamer/Traore. Slimane
Osula

First three games anything we get from them would be a bonus..

Our season really starts at the end of the window with the Everton game.

Hope we might Nick a 1-1 but I reckon today is 1-3 to Palace.. hope I am wrong.

Was going to say.. a loss wouldn't be end of the world either,

although they're games we should be targeting to get something from, we have nowhere near gelled as a team yet.

The only thing a loss would do at this point is bring out the doom and gloomers. Our players aren't stupid enough to think anything is given in the toughest league in the world.

Wouldn't be astonished to see Trusty at LWB today and JLT starting too.
