I sense a 2-0 defeat tbh :(. But then again, I never was that good at predictions :p

Apparently the initial allocation has sold and we've asked for some more.

Brum struggling to sell theirs as well apparently... at least there'll be pies left :D

slightly unfair that home fans can get in from £10.....

They all also going to be distributing "clapper boards" to home fans.

Relegation hang-over  - I'm going for a Blades win. Comfortably.

Definatly gunna be a toughy, but I'm going for a Blades win, I mean out of all the opening games, we have one of the toughest. However, we did finish on a very positiv note last season regardless of the defeat at Soton, and well, Birmingham got relegated, so I reckon it's going to be top match to watch, and glad it's on the old box. :D

So they are giving them clapper boards but we can't get in with a bottle of pop with the lid on.

Definitely going to be one of the toughest games of the season. Good to get it out of the way so early (wouldn't want this at the end of the season).

I don't think tomorrows result is going to have much bearing on how the season pans out.

COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZAAAAAAAAAAAAAARDS!!!!!!

Blues vs Sheffield Utd

Hi to all you United fans, I'm a birmingham city fan and i was just wondering what your opinion is on the match this weekend. Obviously i think we will win and you think you will win but what type of game do you expect sheff utd will play? defensivley at the start? or start the game at a high tempo? Which i sure we all want to see as nobody likes watching boring football. From my view it sometimes takes blues to take 10 mins to settle down and i'm sure it will be like this on saturday. We do not have a fully fit squad as a few players we have recently signed are not match fit yet and radhi Jaidi (centre back) got injured in a friendly so he may not be available. Are there any injuries in your team?

Now Finally, good luck in tomorrows game and lets hope its one to remember !

Hello :hello:

All our discussion on tomorrow's match can be found in this thread.

It will be interesting to see what team we're going to put out, as we have a number of new signings and we haven't really seen them perform properly throughout the pre-season.

I'm sure the others will be along soon to add their tuppence worth, but a question from us to you... where should away fans head for a drink? :D

Hi Linz, yeah i know where your coming from with the team selection as we have brought 2 decent strikers in kevin phillips and marcus bent to go with McFadden, jerome and O'connor so all the talk with bluenoses at the moment is who is going to start up front, the rest of the team is pretty predictable.

As for pubs to drink in.... As you sheffield united u aren't really a main rival with us but i wouldnt recommend walking straight into a blues pub dressed up in your new united shirt! For example there is the Ibis hotel about 1 min away from the ground which serves good beer but no guinness. If you want to go to a pub i would recommend some of the pubs down at the away end of the ground. I forget the names of the pubs now but there is a few pubs which get overrtaken by away fans on matchdays. Sorry i'm not really an expert on away pubs to drink in. If you wanted to, you could perhaps drink in the main city centre which isnt far from the ground. I recommend new street which is where you will find the bars and all that stuff. The City centre is very nice now for all who are wondering if it is a shit hole.

hi there mate, i think tomorow will be a great advert for the championship, in my opinion the best 2 teams on paper, both with great strike forces, could promise lots of goals, as for the outcome im not sure, could go either way, should be a good day out either way :D

yeah i agree with you mate, i'm not being Arrogant or big headed here but i genuinely think that we have the best squad in the division. There are many other teams who have some very good players maybe better than ours but overall i think birmingham have the best team as we have kept many prem quality players e.g. Steve Kelly, Murphy, McFadden, Larsson and then we have others who are more than capable of doing a very good job in the champsionship. I also think that you are looking very good for promotion this year. You have a good manager in Blackwell and you have some very good players who will be a threat in this league. With the likes of Henderson and beattie off the top of my head are good players. I'm going to the game tomorrow are you?

I sure am mate :)
yeh i think phillip,s and mcfadden will do well for you, youve done well to keep him, as we have beattie

I think it will be a close one.

But I do think we will pull it out of the bag.

And Butchaboy's lover Cotterill will have a stomer:D

Go back a page or so mate, apparently at that time their is naff all around the ground that's away friendly, best bet is te weatherspoons in the city center for a bevvie,so I've been told by a Brummie fan.

I'm sorry but until you visit the city centre you can't say that its a dump because its recently gone under quite a redevelopment and there is plans to further redevelop it so shhh up :D

okay then, so you would say the bullring and new street are a dump? And if you live what area do u live in?

Can we get back on to the football please and not the ins and outs of Birmingham's architecture...

Philistine. I bet you don't watch the Culture Show or Grand Designs either.
The merits of Frank Lloyd Wright's influence on modern architects far outweighs that of Le Corbusier, and this can be seen in the modern yet timeless new buildings in Birmingham city centre.

Great defending until the goal.

Apart from that we looked pretty awful.

Henderson and Tonge certainly the worst players on the pitch.

Well done Birmingham they were the better team overall.

Think we deserved a draw tho, Tonge did look like a rabbit in the headlights at times

Not the end of the world tho

Taking the positives, the back four looked solid. The negatives were, Tong who was dire and our passing was woeful. Still nothing is won or lost today, there is a long way to go.

Yeah the defence looks good.

Dont know why he didnt take Halford off and put Cotterill on. It seemed like we were happy to sit at 0-0 in the 2nd half.
