I wonder how they will decide who will go?

Or maybe season ticket holders will be rotated and go to one in every two or three games?

That's fair IMO

No away fans though, just to give more home fans the chance to see their own team.

Not sure that home fans should be denied seeing their own team when opportunities will be limited

I’ve not had a season ticket for years so wouldn’t qualify under the rotate season ticket holders every 3 games idea but agree that’s the best way to do it.

I think they will have to give all fans who were registered as members last year a chance to attend so it may be one in 4/5 games. I assume no away fans

There will be no away fans all season. ⚔️

No away fans until we’re back fully, surely?

If there’s 24,000 season tickets sold, then reserve about 8,000 tickets per match for them (give or take, depending on bubble sizes etc), meaning ST holders go once every three games. The remaining few hundred places at each match would then be allocated by ballot for any members (or bubble groups) who apply, possibly subject to having a certain number of loyalty points, and maybe with a guarantee of getting a ticket after a certain number of unsuccessful applications.

Of course the number of ST holders may change, and some of those won’t necessarily want to go under current circumstances anyway. But the numbers and rotations are variable, you get the idea.

Then after all that logistical fannying, we will go into lockdown the day before the first game.

Don't know if this was covered elsewhere, but according to this...

They might let us/some of us, back in, but we won't be allowed to sing or chant!

That's going to take some doing eh? It'll be like trying to perfect the silent orgasm.🤔

I think with loyalty points I'd make the cut at those numbers. but surely the best way is to rotate season ticket holders, so it would be one in 3 games until the numbers can be adjusted upwards. I'd suggest when the situation becomes a bit clearer they sell 10 game season tickets to those who want them, add on the 4/5 outstanding and that will probably see out the 20/21 season.

hopefully, we'll be back to normality in 21/22

The loyalty point use is an interesting one. I suspect, given the start date of the scheme, the qualifying point for the top 8k plus (using the OP figure) will be higher than many expect.

There will be many that go to no/barely any away games that have had a season ticket for the duration of the scheme. This will qualify them in this top 8k.

Many that get/just miss out on away games may not be as high up on the points listing as first thought.

I think it's a complete nonsense. I do not wish to be "rotated" thanks. The risks of contracting this virus in the outdoors is minimal. I'd open it up to all fans and let them take responsibility for their own safety. If they want to wear a mask, fine, go ahead. If they don't want to come. Fine, stay at home.

I can understand why they decided to close these kind of activities down when the pandemic was at its peak. But that's not where we are at now. If you want to see what kind of risk there may be from having thousands of people in close proximity in the outdoors, there are lots of examples over the past few weeks to study. Take the crowds on Bournemouth beach for example. And what was the result of that? No significant increase in the number of new infections.

I'm ready to go shoulder to shoulder with my fellow Blades and sing my ruddy head off. I'll probably feel a bit daft doing that where I sit in the South Stand, as it'll probably turn into a solo. But, I'm ready to give it a go!

If we do this and we see a significant spike in new infections in the weeks following it - fine. Restrict it again. But in the absence of any evidence to suggest that this would be a significant risk to health, then let's look at it another way and start from the position of, "business as usual" because the sooner we get back to that mentality the better it will be for football and for all other aspects of life, work, business, socialising, economy, etc.
