I strongly suspect it’s not as simple as that. I don’t think the “bad influence” thing is a continuing thing that’s been going on all season. I suspect there has been some difference of opinion between them with Collins not towing the line and following instructions. I suspect he did similar under Clough. It only takes one occurrence of defiance. I’m sure Adkins won’t have felt that way about him all season. After all, wasn’t he part of the six player committee that had meetings with the manager etc?
Think your right Dane.if he were a bad influence he would have been gone well before now.It maybe him not sticking to the tactical plan( same happened with clough) as everyone can see he is shit scared of pace and playing 3 at the back makes us vulnerable to counter attacking, ohe always sits too deep however we line up and if he will not

Do as Adkins requests . I think fall out is too strong a way of putting it
but he probably has to go

One thing you can be sure of, we (who have contributed significantly for years to the ridiculous wages of a sub-standard player like Collins) will never be told the truth. Undisclosed transfer fees, board room strategy, why players are sent on loan or released .... why on earth should supporters have the right to any genuine insight into such issues, or into the running of OUR club generally ? Football is increasingly arrogant and condescending in its treatment of us, the very lifeblood of the game.

Yours, more disillusioned with "the peoples' game" each season ...

To me, it's now only the "Peoples Game" if those people are involved in a Corporate way. McFootball :(

He's playing and captaining the U21s tonight at Birmingham.

I won't dare wish for a fairy tale ending, and young Terry has a great career in football, but I really hope so, the sort of no nonsense tough nut that every team needs. Smallest lad in the back four and wins most headers, came on in the second half at Port Vale (at their dump of a ground), and sorted out Uche Ikpeazu in about 10 minutes, after he had run through our defenders all first half.

I can only assume that someone has got their facts wrong and that he's actually off to Ontario United of Canada.

They're soon introducing a universal basic income in Ontario. So when the club realise he's shit and it turns out he's as good at burger flipping as he is at marking and running, he'll still be able to earn some money somehow.

Can you imagine being a fan of the team he signs for? Your rivals sign Lampard or Gerrard, you sign him. You'd feel more than a little underwhelmed wouldn't you?

Except they are only rivals if he signs for the MLS.

Tampa aren't in the MLS.

Just noticed that there is already a thread on this in the rumours section. However, I've just got the text message and wouldn't class it as a rumour anymore.

What is the point in paying up a player when he's out of contract in a few months and we could have used him where needed untill then? Mind bogglingly silly.

It might not be for the full value of the contract that's why.

Collins might have a contract lined up elsewhere meaning he would accept say 50% of his contract value so he can sign with another club for the remainder of this and for the next season or two.

Seriously?

The man is probably one of the worse center backs I've seen pull on a United shirt and how he's made as many appearances as he has is a f**king disgrace!

A traffic cone with a shirt on would do more in a match than Collins, and the man gave me a twitchy arse everytime he touched the ball!

Another thing, what foot was his "strongest" anyway?
