I honestly think a lot of people are going to be very disappointed this summer. Not half as many players will be leaving as they want. It's just not that easy to replace so many players and I doubt Adkins has the courage to do it. We'll see. Hope I'm wrong.

I think NA is much tougher than some give him credit for. I don't buy that he is Mr nice guy 100% of the time. He shouts out bollockings with the best of them on the touchline and it's clear from recent interviews that his patience has snapped with some players.

The question of courage should be pointed at the board. Do they have the courage to hold their nerve, not worry about season ticket numbers and let Adkins swing the axe in the summer?

Agreed.

Scougall, Woolford, Coutts, Brayford, Freeman, McNulty, Basham, Done, Wallace (possibly, its hard to find confirmation of his contract length), De Girolamo, Reed, DCL are all under contract still next season. Most of them have all hugely underachieved this season and it won't be simple to find them new clubs.

Hammond will almost definitely be signing IMO and I wouldn't be surprised to see McEveley get a new deal either.

I feel there's going to be a lot of the same underachievers lacking the fight here still next season.

Option A - Stick with players you know aren't good enough
Option B - Get rid of the players not good enough and have the chance to replace them with one's who are.

Nobody in the right mind would want to take the first option and expect promotion. Which is why Adkins will.

If there's only two options and one of those options is clearly shit, you know as well as I do that Sheffield United are going to take the shit option.

I think most people now realise that the players are certainly the big issue, thankfully. But that doesn't mean that people think its entirely their fault.

Adkins has made some awful decisions and sadly he does seem to keep making them. However, he's working with too many players which aren't really suitable for his style and personality... which makes the decision to appoint him at this time quite strange. But give him a chance to bring a few more of his own players in, whilst shifting a few more of the current lot and then we can really see

Its a long term project

...ok, so exactly what is his "style and personality"? Attacking? defensive? wingbacks? Diamond? or just try anything once and hope he drops on something that works??

I'm not the best person to ask as i think that he's been extremely negative and naive!

He states that he wants to play attacking football and 2 up front is his preference. Is he intending to play 3-5-2 long term or is that just his favoured formation now... because it seemed to work for a couple of games... or does he think it just suits the players we have?

I guess the summer will be a big chance for him to really stamp his authority on this club...

Its a gamble, but so is sacking a manager and starting again.

Never said he was a bad signing....I just asked what people thought the team would look like based on his history of signings. what do you think YB???

1. He's ruining my club and 2. The continuation of the evidently horrid managerial ability the ruining is driven by will halt and send the club backwards for another 4 years at the very least. Would you want that? Because that is what we shall get.
