The reason I ask is because Big Nige looks completely clueless and a tad out of his depth!

I'm beyond embarrassed with out club nowadays!!!

The club is unmanageable, we will be relegated to the fourth tier within two years.

4 points off the play-offs and not one player can pull their finger out.

I just think the lack of fight in the club speaks volumes, Blades fans always back a team with guts and fight..........sadly seems a while since we had one.

You can't fluke 4 promotions, but you can look at your bank balance, see enough to retire on and not really care about your job anymore.

To be fair, he hasn't done anything in a long while. Plus he's never really made a success out of a team when it's gone wrong. At Scunthorpe and Southampton, they both pretty much pissed the league. It's easier to manage a team that keeps winning, a lot harder to sort out one that isn't. When faced with that challenge at Reading, he wasn't up to it. I think he's one of those managers that doesn't motivate players when things aren't going too well. If we had started the season well, i think we would have won the league. When the cracks started appearing, he lost the dressing room and just keeps making it worse.

That was piss poor tonight, no fight,no shape, its as if nobody can be bothered and its fucking me right off,if the adkins fans think he's the man he must have something up his sleeve bcos all i see is blank

When we won 4 on the trot at the start of the season I thought that was that. How naive I was to think that however!

I was an Adkin's fan at the start of the season but he's just not up to it and it's glaringly obvious to see. If you can't get a team playing together in what is a piss poor league then your not going to get one ever.

It was plain to see that the players are not playing for nice Nigel Adkins.

He needs to go now before it gets worse.

What about when he got Scunny promoted following relegation from the championship?

If a bloke with 4 promotions on his cv can't get these useless twats playing then I'm struggling to think of a manager who could.

He was the fans choice for a reason, so back the fans choice.

Exactly.

I think some on here reckon we should have got Parkinson instead.

We were saying at the start of the season that the back to back promotions NA achieved at Southampton were similar to Dave Bassett with us,it just clicked at the time, and he hadn't really done very much lately.
I think maybe he has lost the dressing room and there's no set pattern of play.I'm sure a Neil Warnock type would get them playing better than at present.

No you can't fluke that. I think it says a lot more about the players and the board than it does about him. If he can't get them up, I don't know who could. The players weren't good enough last year and they aren't this year either. Adkins has made errors but I don't think sacking him will solve the current problems that the Club has.
We are better off formulating a clear plan for the summer under Adkins, getting the players needed in and then going on from there.

Like I mentioned elsewhere I think Neil would have binned most of them in August.

The thing is I agree that Warnock or even Clough would get better results with these players BUT it would be a short term success and wouldn't end in promotion.

Promotion is the aim and I very much doubt any manager would turn this team into promotion winners.

Normally I would be worried about a manager losing the dressing room, but who cares when most of them will be another clubs problem next season. I'm now looking forward to the summer to see who leaves and hopefully get excited after seeing who we sign.

He's never had the misfortunate of trying to manage this club though has he.
How a professional football club with all the advantages can fail in the THIRD DIVISION as pathetically as this one is just unbelievable.

All they have to do is play decent, attacking, attractive, exciting football, win, lose or draw at THIRD DIVISION LEVEL and at least they'd get some leeway but still the stupid bastards can't do it. No matter who is playing and no matter who is in charge they absolutely cannot do it.
It's beyond fucking pathetic, it's even starting to smell of conspiracy to oust us out of existence.

And yes, I know how stupid that sounds but how can a professional football club be so constantly and utterly fucking shit as this one.

Absolutely not. A football club cant fluke year on year decline either.

That's a good point. Managers can lose desire and take their eye off the ball just like players can. It would explain why Adkins has seemed right out of the loop from the very start.

No it Isn't. Southampton kept Key Core Squad players, had an Academy that turned out talent and a Board that had rebuilt since Administration and had no fear backing Adkins. Unfortunately Sheffield United is WAY off what Southampton were. The blades are kind of like Villa, The problems wont go away if you sack Adkins. it lies at the feet of the board. Both Clough and Adkins Struggled or are struggling at United, yet had varying success elsewhere. The Board invested in a Desso Pitch in League 1 instead of experienced players who could get you into the championship. Their priorities seem confused. If Adkins does go, who comes? For a club that size. you've been down there way too long

Im willing to bet that 99% of the people wanting him gone were very happy at his appointment at the start of the season.

These players know they will be gone if hes still here come may and for me, they are trying their damdest to get rid of him before then.

Hes made mistakes. The first one was deciding that he wanted to give them all another chance.

If we sack him then the next man could make that fatal error.

Plus who would you get? Like him or loathe him, he has a decent reputation getting promotions. whose to say sorting the problems at United would take anyone longer than a season. Sack him now and you could make yourselves toxic to any manager with a name
