Presumably meaning the pigs? Not heard that one, the two clubs I hear interested in Brayford are Forest and Wolves, particularly Forest.

James Hanson is a quality striker ,best header of a ball outside the premiership. Don't think Bradford would let him go but to say hes a donkey is ridiculous.

To be fair, you think JCR is a winger..

Hanson is not what is required and is only ok if you play the ball to his head. Something just woke Pinchy

One would hope once you add the missing half of the quote it reads:

"Sheffield Wednesday have enquired about Sheffield United fullback John Brayford and have been told exactly how far to fuck off"

More like the board has reluctantly accepted the offer . ( followed by a poor PR justification to pacify the fans but does the complete opposite due to poor communication and creative accounting ). Let's see is things change this JTW.

The name of the game at the lane is a cost cutting exercise and rebalance the books, as much as possible.

If someone offer £2 million for Brayford, would you take it?

RS reporting Alcock to Donny to be confirmed today.

He's not done anything wrong this season in the small number of games he's played, and if the full-backs can probably feel a little aggrieved to be first out. No League 1 side should have 6 full-backs. On top of that we also have two wingers in Woolford and Flynn that can cover each side in an emergency. Could never understand why Clough bought Freeman when we knew the Brayford deal was happening. A waste of resources.

No. Since his return we have W4 D1 L1.

Before his return the previous results were:

Shrewsbury - 4-2L
Walsall - D
Southend - D
Fleetwood - D (penalty defeat)
Worcester - 3-0W
Crewe - 1-0L
Millwall - 2-1L
Fleetwood - 3-0W

He is captain material and should be our captain

I think he is more of a leader by example personally, although to be fair he really shouldn't have much competition for the job anyway.

Anyone heard anything about how he is playing at Donny? A Blade mate in the pub on Sunday night said his Donny mates told him they were playing Alcock as a winger and that he was doing well? Getting down to the by line quickly and crossing in?

One of my drivers ,Donny fan, says he is playing more at centre back in a 3 at the back and he looks solid.
He also says Donny are making a bid for Conor Washington.

absolutely not. there's a simple metric that the united board don't understand.. could we replace the beard quality/personality/cult figure/ talisman wise for 2 million. i don't think so.

I agree, but he'll be our highest earner and I really can't see our club turning the money down if it is offered. Some silly money will be spent by Championship clubs in the transfer window in a desperate attempt to get their hands on the couple hundred million for just 1 season in the Prem. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went, as he is better than many right backs in the championship.

Disagree. I find him extremely one dimensional. Useful when Bradford had their cup runs as they relied on set pieces and he is a big target to aim for but he is immobile and lacks other aspects to his game.

Burn and Hanson are exactly what we are crying out for, especially at third tier level. All those long balls that get banged forward to Sammon and that come straight back would start sticking with Hanson. All those that get banged forward for us to defend and our centre halves struggle to deal with, suddenly start getting won cleanly by Burn and end up 20/30 yards away from the danger zone. Both players would help take the pressure off the rest of the team, we'd also be better at defending and attacking set plays.

I'd admit Hanson is a bit one dimensional but he's the type of striker that we need at this level.

For me, a Hanson type would only be effective with a Kabba type of striker alongside him. Sharp needs a cleverer link up player than Hansen IMO. Sammon is poor in the air for a big man but has other attributes that help the team (hold up play, running channels etc).

100%. I'd accept a fair bit less than that. He is not value for money and we could sign two good players in key positions as well as a replacement. It would surprise me if Forest and Wolves want him - unless he's available for well under a million, and I don't think we'd even do that.

That's our problem ,I wouldn't want him running down the wings or holding the midfield ,I would want him up front winning the ball in the air (which he does ) for Billy or the midfielders to feed off. He is certainly not immobile either ,fuck sake weve had Michael Higdon ,that's immobile.

We could sign players for the money but do you trust our recruitment process to risk losing our best player yet again? The net result always seems to see us worse off. I'd be very reluctant to let Brayford go as he is about all we've got going for us at the moment.

Well it's all relative and I agree he'd be an improvement on Higdon. I just hope we can get a more skilful and mobile striker. Not sure who. O Grady was exactly the type I wanted but that was short lived. Let's hope we can find someone similar.

Our butchers milkman says he's playing in goal and doing very well.
