Then this time last year and the side isn't any better.

How did it get to this?
Yes and not a marginal gap, 5 points !

How have we ended up with a side 5 points worse than a Clough side ?

However, delighted with a point today, it sounds like they battered us for most of the game.

Its incredible how its come to this . 11th In League One. I wonder how the players feel when everyone in the media says things like "pre-season favourites, biggest club in the league, one of the biggest wage bills" then they look at the league and see just how badly they are doing

There is no quick solution. We have to stay up this season then a complete clear out is needed but I have to admit Adkins signings do worry me.

Good result, but we've learned nothing. We already knew we weren't giod enough, so it's about what happens at Christmas. 2 new midfielders and a centre half please. Without decent signings ( not Hammmond and replacing Coutts) we are no better than mid table.

At least the Dingles won today, giving us a chance next week.

Writebthe season off now and it hurts less. :)

Pretty much where I'm at with it at the moment, although I don't think we'll have any trouble remaining top half. I've wrote this season off (another season). Adkins needs to buck his ideas up though as he's done little to impress thus far.

I'd imagine some of them are wondering how the fuck Hammond, Collins and JCR all get starts ahead of them and still don't get points.

Didn't Phipps state that Clough devalued players by not playing them? Adkins is devaluing players by playing them...

Written it off now Alco

I am going to stay strong. For better or worse his starting 11 is getting more settled and he's just moving them around a bit till it hopefully works.

Ok we struggled today but finished strongly, but we know we can win 3 in a row so it's in us.

I can imagine we have some sort of deal lined up that means we will be signing Hammond permanently which is worrying.

It wouldn't worry me if it was combined with getting rid of all the other pedestrian midfielders we have. Hammond could conceivably do the Stuart McCall role for us, but with Coutts and Baxter alongside him even McCall would look bereft.

Get some bloody legs on the pitch. Get some power at the back. The rest will suffice.

How do we know we can win 3 in a row? Not with Coutts and Hammond in the middle - not for me.

We may have less points now but for the future of this club we need to stick with Adkins and give him another season to sort the squad out. It was never going to be easy playing with Cloughs squad and defensive mindset he got into the squad but atleast Adkins has shown in the past he knows what it takes to get teams out of this league. Adkins is making mistakes but i have more faith that he will rectify them than i did when Clough was here, i think Adkins deserves a chance atleast and i hope our fans think this along with our board because if they don't we could be in this league or even a league lower for a long time.

It would but that's a lot of time and money I'm going to be spending on naff-all. Again.

I think we can do a bit better than we are now, but it's still blatantly obvious the squad is a mess.
You're a Blade JD - it' a lifetime of gash with an occasional sprinkling of glitter :D

Someone wants shooting if that's the case. Adkins signings have been crap so far, added to a squad of utter crap. Even Sharp's turned gash. If he has any chance to turn back on Hammond he should, barring some upturn in form.

I hope you are right but incredibly most of Adkins signings so far are just as bad as Clough's. We lack pace, power and resolve.

11th in L1 is disgraceful regardless of the mess Clough left behind.

My main beef is Adkins must have known/been told how shit we were last year and did fuck all to address this in the summer.

What a fucking waste of a season and we are faced with the ignominy of watching the worse side in our history 6 bastarding seasons in this awful awful league.
Well, I watched them all last season and held Clough and his dour tactics responsible for failing to get more out of them. Now I've realised they're just shite, and I hold Clough responsible for signing them.

Adkins has continued to sign crap players - he really must take stock of transfer policy - quickly.

He's made incredibly poor signings so far. The worst thing to do is to give him the chance to extend that.

He needs to go, and a manager that actually knows how to prioritise and recruit effectively needs to be brought in and tasked with a complete squad overhaul. Preferably someone with at least the smallest of clues when it comes to match day decisions too.

Giving him the chance and the resources to increase his mistake count will yield everything it deserves. Abject failure. Mark my words.

He needs to go, and fast.

Our transfer policy is board driven. That's the problem. We need to shell some cash on young hungry players. Yet because we don't pay transfer fees (yeh I know Brayford) we won't pick up promising players who cost money from teams around us and the division below.

How hungry for success do you think the players we have are? Does anyone think they come to us to make their name in the game. They are on the way down and we are a last pay packet or robbing a wage. If these players could play consistently infront of 20k supporters every week do you think they would be playing with us.

We have a weak board, weak chairman who doesn't know the game and strange fucking transfer policies on wankers who can't play under pressure.

His big problem is that he is too bitter and jealous to be able to pick Diego De Girolamo and give him the free role to express himself......

This is it for me - we keep signing players falling from above, and hoping they find their level. It isn't working.

Ok we struggled today but finished strongly, but we know we can win 3 in a row so it's in us.

Nothing in our performances fills me with any confidence we can put any sort of winning run together, winning three on the bounce, we need a lot more to get where we want to be. To many managers have sussed NA tactics out and there is no fear factor when opponents play us, we are predictable and slow all over the park.

Needs to stick with this core of players now (along with the returning Beard), through to January & see if they can gel together & get us going on some sort of run. Generate a bit of trust & belief. As you say: for better or for worse.

Sounds like George was good today, & that Sammon made a difference, & Jose continues to be effective. Presumably JWall is injured again (for the 501st time) though?

Some transfers are definately questionable mate but we don't know whether his hands have been tied or not, either way he's not been here that long so i find it a tad harsh to judge him so early as he has proved he can do it at this level, something that the boring Clough has never achieved. Clough gave us some great moments and i thank him for that but he was never going to get us up imo.
