Its all about opinions blader and just because yours is different to others doesn't make it more valid than those that you disagree with . I personally would have liked to see how Higdon did after having a full pre season - something he did not have last season -and given a run of games. I would certainly have had a little wager with you that given the same amount of games as Sammon he would have scored in more than 1 !!! UTB

It is a sign that Adkins has the Sharp, Sammon and McNulty rotation and Higdon hasn't really featured in any plans and has just picked up a wage. A good move all round and it reduces the wage bill for us hopefully helping pave the way for our new loan arrivals.

All of this is not Higdons' fault. I'm not saying he's a worldbeater but he has proved at every other club he's been at (baring Crewe perhaps) that he can score goals with a run of games, something he hasn't had here. That my friend is why some of us have said lets give him a chance, it's not to be and good luck to him, maybe we have enough players already for that position and we definitely need improving in other areas, lets see how we spend his wages plus the other funds we have.

Considering his league minutes on the pitch add up to 0 minutes this season
its a bit unfair saying he hasnt played well
one could argue he hasnt put a foot wrong

him getting games and match fit at Oldham could just be the chance he needs

No . The reason is to release up finance ( not all , as we will be funding part of the wages ) , from a player who is well paid , but not playing .

Good luck to him. Hopefully he notches the odd goal against a rival. He can score goals but offers too little outside of that to the point that it’s often like playing with 10 men. Right decision to move him on and free up a wage. Let someone like Diego or Wright get the odd bench/ JPT appearance in his place. Even with Sammon injured, I wouldn’t start him.

I note they have done the deal in such a way that it doesn’t cover the xmas period. Controversial? I suspect they wanted him to play those games but decided it wasn’t wort the extra catering costs for the xmas party.
