Great interview from Nigel on the football heaven website. Reading between the lines I think he's anticipating that Bury will park the bus and try and frustrate us.

A lot of emphasis on how good the support has been and how we need to continue to keep patient as we try and break teams down. Sometimes it won't be pretty, etc.

Also mentioned that he's anticipating Coutts and Done back in the first team fold. I must admit listening to our Nige is like a breath of fresh air, he even name checks the cleaning ladies at the training ground. Bet he's a great manager to work under.

I'm predicting a scruffy 2-1, breaking to deadlock at 70mins. Anyone else?

Not heard the interview but I thought Bury had been involved in high scoring games. I don't think they're equipped to park the bus, though this is based on nothing more than half-remembered results.

4-2.

It's definitely going to be a tough game, but we're capable of beating any team in this league if we play well.

Bury are unbeaten away from home in 13 games so people expecting this to be a walkover will be surprised!

We need to start the match by blitzing them. We can't be starting slowly and feeling our way into the match. Get in tackles and get forward from the off and we should be fine.

These.are games we should definately be winning. Our attitude is great under nigel(new) they bury should be thinking its a difficult game for them.cant see usgetting beat or letting any goals in fancy 2-0 goals coming in from all positions so i will go for collins and sharp. by the way crowd right behind every one at the moment great atmosphere

Looks like we will be playing a midget in midfield, not doing the deals for a midfielder and defender could well bite us on the arse. Baxter out still and Wallace injured again ffs

Agree Dale, but as Nigel says we're still a work in progress.

Can anyone link the interview? I'm still not sure how to do it!

Yes, they do seem to be leaking a few goals. Bus parking doesn't seem to be their forte.
My head says it'll be a scrappy home win, my heart hopes it's comfortable.

Bury won at Walsall last Saturday and before that Walsall were flying. Read the reports and Bury seem to have had a fair bit of luck but the key as always is not conceding the first goal and Bury do have goalscorers if we aren't careful.Thats why Adkins is emphasising patience from the fans no doubt.

Alternatively those expecting it not to be a walkover might be surprised. We simply don't know whether a game will be "easy" or "hard" until it's played. Personally I'd sooner play a team unbeaten in 13 games than one that hasn't won in 13 games. These things eventually gravitate to the mean.

Caution is the key whoever you are up against . Adkins is no fool. The application and preparation appears to be spot on this season . Gillingham is the benchmark of what can happen , and that one is now out of the syatem . Its us who are now the threat , as we can do the main important things - defend and score goals.

Easy 4-0 win.

Both Bury & Colchester will not be walkovers. In our five League games so far, we've been thumped at Gillingham, were far-from-impressive at home to Chesterfield, got a good away win at fading Posh, eventually overcame the worst team in the division at home (Blackpool) and got an excellent win at Swindon.

'Work in progress' is about right.

Bury will come with a nothing to lose attitude and therefore play with ease as the game goes on. We need to be patient and not expect to score early doors although that would be welcome. Lets concentrate on backing the players and winning the 3 points.

Sharpe & Sammon to score.

Whilst it was in the league below, towards the end of last season they had a run of 7 consecutive wins without conceding a single goal. I don't know if they "parked the bus" as such but that shows that they do know how to defend a slender lead:

I still think we'll have too much for them and I agree with Nigel in that the first goal is crucial. It always is but in this game, even more so.

I'm just looking forward to the game as its my burst of the season. Saw some pre season games but am excited as to how the team are playing in the league.

I can't ever remember us taking Bury apart at home, Katchuro got a hat trick once but they always seem to be one of those teams I rock up expecting a cricket score and we win 1-0 or 2-1 with a scrappy performance. I'll be glad of any kind of win this weekend. I think Tuesday night might be the eaiser of the two games.

Nobody thought our game against Spurs would be a walkover; the night we walked over them 6-0. That's my point, which I thought I made reasonably clearly. Neither you nor I know until the game is played...

Your inverted snobbery of exaggerating the strength of the opposition and belittling our own club is both noted and expected. Even if we win the next 10 games, some of you will cling to the Gillngham defeat like barnacles.

It's the Bladesfans' Way.

You've burst! I'm sorry to hear that. Has someone called an ambulance?....

The first goal will be important.

No game will be a walkover.

We should be winning games like this.

I'd take a 1-0 now.

Ah the football season and it's clichés, how I've missed it.
