Desso Pitch..

It was a beautiful day, tainted only by some poor refereeing. Looking back, we had an honest, hardworking and superbly organised team, with the added dimension of an outstanding striker (who we characteristically (under)sold to the first serious bidder).

Of course, you're not the same person and United is not the same club - change is the one constant in our lives!

Whilst I can't argue against your point, that we seem to have endured more than our share of genital flagellation, my pecker remains firmly upright when it comes to supporting The Blades. I decided long ago, that the only way to survive and remain positive as a Blade was to enjoy the journey - one game at a time - and not fixate too much on a particular destination, e.g. The Premier League.

We've had some amazing experiences since that Liverpool game in 92, during both the Warnock and, yes, Clough years. We've more than held our own in the battle for local supremacy, which for many is most important. Even in the 3 years since they went up, we've had far more fun battling in Play-offs and playing in cup semi-finals, whilst they've struggled to maintain mid-table obscurity in a league above. I'm probably in a minority, but I would not have swapped places with them since their promotion.

By the way, what's your "agenda?"
I dont have one but any criticism of the club was labeled as agenda fuelled bollox by Pinchy

That's right, 92 was when destruction of English football began.

You must be mistaken. Football didn't exist before 1992. Otherwise all these record-breaking achievements referred to by the media wouldn't be records at all, they'd be a farce that shows a lack of respect for actual top-flight achievements

I think that's an improvement on their last match mate:)

If you read the article in the Star about their pitch the company who is doing the installation said that their pitch is built on an old river bed and all the rocks and stones were causing problems with their equipment. It meant that they had a load of extra work to do but had to had it complete by 14 June so that Desso can start their install otherwise it won't be ready for the start of the season. Desso will be moving across to Hillsborough after they have finished at the Lane. In other words, Wendy had a two week start on us but they may not be finished in time.

This is a turd that cannot be polished. Look after your gear and take the summer off lads.

Yes, i heard that they had to take the undersoil heating up, replace it all and that's the reason there's has cost more than ours. Don't know if this is true but if it is it makes the twats look like bigger twats making out that there's is better than ours, the petty fuckers.

I believe United are totally replacing our undersoil heating too. I may be wrong but I understand the reason theirs is costing a lot more is because they have to dig a lot further down to sort the drainage and then build it up to a greater height than it was before, in the process levelling it, taking out most but not all of the slope.

Cheers for that, it's only what i heard mate, i wasn't totally convinced that we wouldn't have to change ours so the digging deeper and building theirs up sounds about right. I haven't read up on it, i think i might now:)

The way I understood it is they did all the ground work last summer, and this pre season would just be a simple des so installation? Hence why the pitch still looked in good condition at the end of the season. Might be wrong tho!

According to the Stir (twats) a main consideration for us investing in a Dresso pitch is that we may share with feckin egg chasers again next season.

Things can't get any feckin worse if true.

Its being installed in order to maximise the revenue (which in turn will allow more money to be spent on wages etc) so if that means Rugby Boxing and Tossing the flaming Kaber are all done at the lane next season I dont care..... "SHOW ME THE MONEY"

If that were the case AB I would agree but when have we seen the proceeds of selling players, hotels, cup, runs etc result in U.S. "seeing the money" spent of the team? It's either lost in space or spent paying off contracts of journeymen and tossers

I can't imagine it will effect revenue as even if it does pull in extra events, Sheffield United FC no longer own Bramall Lane Stadium

Is the pitch going to make the players any better, stronger or more passionate? I know what i'd spend that money on and it wouldn't be a new pitch. Complete waste of money in my view.
