Jim Phipps summed up our current predicament perfectly...

Think what is most telling is this line

"Those openly predicting our failure in the playoffs before the first whistle has blown are most certainly entitled to their views, but they might do well to pause and to consider the potential effect of their open negativity on the club they profess to love."

So all those who constantly blow off with remarks against the club then claim , IT STAYS IN HERE
well quite obviously it does transfer wholly . to the staff and players

unthinking constant criticism is affecting players confidence , the fans moaning
are to blame for indifferent displays , as the players feel the lack of love

so please , try for a short period to get behind the team ,

What a great shame the manager and players affected our confidence before we affected theirs. We were full of optimism and generosity for the firstvfew months of this season. We have been so supportive it is incredible actually.

If we lose the play offs , they will become and viewed as irrelevant . They will take and look at the season overall . IMO the die has already been cast . If not , whats the point of the Facebook message in the first place . Its all Cloughs fault not ours . Method in there madness , with a gypsies warning , and look guys ( you fantastic supporters , who we think about and want the best for you ) buy your season tickets , we really do empathise with you , we really do.

Yep that's what it is all about come this time of the year ST sales, so they always blow a bit of hot air up the fans arses and us fans fall for it every time. Expect Murphy to be sold a week or two before next season starts.

Right bastards eh these so called Blades fans

hate to point out getting to a play offs is regarded as doing something
maybe not to some with delusions of grandeur or expectations fuelled by bookies lists

Let's be positive, keep our doubts tamped down, and do what we do every Tuesday and Saturday -- show up determined to sing the lads on to victory."

Fucking hell fire, you can tell he's been associated with the Blades for 2 years max.

I think someones moved the goal posts , either Clough or the board . I don't think its Clough .

Didn't someone say at the dinner ( think it was Phipps , Clough should be the manager for the next 20 years ) .

The Phipps message may have been released , before Clough gets in himself , as who is to say the negative vibes affecting Clough and the players , is not coming from the terraces , but direct from the board , (and whispers are affecting the players and Clough demeanour , and he thinks fuck it. )

We have no idea whats going on behind closed doors , with in fighting politics , but it is there for all to see , something is affecting the performances on the pitch .

what were your expectations starting from scratch in august , anhilating every team in the league
not me up there with the aliens
my feet are on the ground
i still thought we could piss this league if we bought quality in january
if we'd have got o'grady and a centre back we would have
this league is shit

Clough wanted Brayford and it was sanctioned he could have him ( a good purchase for now and the future IMO)

It reads to me the board and advisers are edging there bets , on what to do next on the management front , with a little bit of arse covering .

If we succeed , they will have some of the credit , with backing / trust they have given Clough . If its failure , in business , then Clough has to be the fall guy . Rightly or wrongly , we will soon find out .

The wording is clever and can be read in two ways depending which side of the fence you sit on , regarding Clough and the board .

It's hedging not edging. The Board aren't gardeners. A person/organisation hedges bets. :)

was a very tall order, , our quality squad wise was not good once brayford codie and maguire were removed
perhaps had we got who we wanted in august wed have made top 2
but what good players rolled over from last season were all young , or getting to the end
was a big change of staff required, too big

Challenging for autos
Not stuttering into a play off campaign
Not losing at home to Crewe for the first time ever
Not taking only 1 point from 6 from the mighty Fleetwood. And the 1 point would be away from home.
Not beating the runaway leaders away and then a few weeks later capitulating to the runaway relegation candidates on the event of their confirmed relegation.
Not going through so many games where the oppo keeper could have had a cigar on sitting in a deck chair (so much that they could have been sat next to you in Spain)

I expected much better that this
I expected us to be competing
I have seen what we are capable of and the standard we have set
I have not seen us maintain anything like that standard for more than a handful of games.

There are far more teams in this league achieving as expected or better - even if, for some that is not a lot. Not sure if I see any that are performing as below par as we are given the investment and resources available. That's the source of the frustration.

We had enough quality around the first 14 that 3 or 4 quality players would have been enough

We signed brayford and done but stopped short of getting the other two

Our matchday 14 became 40 because we were playing at being the little upstarts in the cups and it totally fucked our season up

Another quite worrying thing is McCabe is very quiet of late, maybe he is enjoying his time out of the spot light.

My understanding is the McCabe and sons are very much pro Clough ( especially that the club does need stability ) . However he may well be now out voted , as he cannot run a autocratic club anymore .

Remember Phipps is a Prince man , so does not wholly speak for the full board . McCabe esteem has gone up in my estimation this season , by holding his council . Unless he is the silent assassin .

Can't post in detail but for various reasons I think the expectations set out here are waaaaay too high.

If this is the expected standard after just over a season and half in charge then we'll need to install a revolving door on the manager's office which would be a real shame.

A polite 'testicles' to that post. Remember we have been there or thereabouts every season after we have been relegated losing to 'udders and Yeovil in two play off competitions. I would be pretty cheesed off if I were McCabe at our continual failure to get over the line. It really is shite. It would be like Man U not getting into the Champions League. One season maybe but three, four, five?

If "John came in at the same fee Harry went out at " we paid £2.5m or thereabouts.

Russell slade said "it got to apoint we couldn't say no anymore". No fucking onder.

As for £2.5m or thereabouts on a full back, as good as he is, in our predicament what the f*** is going on?

Woops I've just said I'll keep my counsel !

I said it then and ill say it now with this single transaction all excuses aimed at lack of investment went out the window. It was possibly the noose around Cloughs neck that will tighten should we fail to go up. But let's not pretend anyone cared how much it was at that time. We wanted Brayford back and that was all.

Thank you and my apologies on a vey serious matter , which cannot be taken lightly , as it not only affects the future of Clough ,but more importantly the club.

I will use spell check:D

Bway, have a look at my posts at the time. I also predicted our fans might turn on Brayford before the season finishes and recently they nearly did.

I said Done was on a hiding to nothing too, but the lad has done well and Clough doesn't play him anyway!!

Ant striker playing in our set up is on a hiding to nothing.
