Just listened to his post game presser.
He's happy with the performance, just outdone by 2 worldies. Says were on the right track where to Div1?

Anybody remember this Chris Wilder?

The Chris Wilder who was pissed off we'd just narrowly lost a game of Premier League football to Liverpool.

The same Liverpool who had just won the Champions League a couple of months earlier and would go on to win the league that season.

Now he's licking his wounds, making excuses and offering up wishy washy platitudes after a defeat at Stoke.

The end of Ian Porterfield’s time with us and Wilder’s time now are strikingly similar. Overpaid, under motivated, ageing has beens on their last payday, No pace, dull, zero ambition from the Board and mass apathy from the fans. I don’t think we’ll see it but the whole club needs a root and branch clear out and re-set to move with the times. I know fans aren’t patient but if I could see changes in action, going the right way forward, I would settle for mid table for a few years whilst the rebuild takes place. Sadly, this will only happen with new owners. These are sad and infuriating times in equal measure.

I think these owners want to do it. But they need to attract investment to be able to do what’s needed. That could potentially be a game changer. And as experienced and successful PE investors themselves I think there’s a reasonable chance they’ll have learned from the many mistakes they’ve made so far. So I’m not quite as gloomy as many.

I was one of the supporters who was glad that Wilder was sacked at th end of the 24/25 season. I thougth that the time was right to find a new manager who could take us to the next level, get us promoted and keep us in the premeir league. I think that is what COH thought too. The Selles appointment was clearly not that, so enter Wilder Mk3. He did well to keep us in the division, and I think he will do that again this season. But what turgid football, picking up scraps here and there, and I think we could be so much better than that. I'd like to see a young hungry manager who will give youth a chance, even if it means dropping a division, but coming back stronger and playing attractive football. for me, its Wilder out

The rebuild that this club needs to have at the end of this season is the most important one in probably a lot of people's lifetime of watching United.

We need to completely reset the senior roles at boardroom level (mainly Bettis), the management team, coaching team, fitness team, scouting team and network and the playing squad.

We have 14 players, including loans, who are potentially leaving the club and 7 players entering the final year of their contract which includes burrows, McCallum, Peck, arblaster, cooper and Campbell.

We cannot afford another complete cluster fuck of a summer window like the last two or we will be yo-yoing between the bottom half of the championship and league 1 for the next decade.

We need a complete root and branch clear out from top to bottom and to start again and we need to get the wheels in motion for this going as soon as possible.

We can write this season off now after 8 matches, the only thing we need to do this year is finish 21st or better imo.

If he's as big a blade as he says he is wilder needs to swallow his ego and admit his time in football management at the higher level is finished and step aside. Failing that someone high up needs to have the balls to do it for him.

We then need to do a proper recruitment process for the next manager/coach. Proper interviews with proper scrutiny of where this next man takes us in the next 1/2/5 years. We need to see how they are going to create a pathway for our academy players who we've seen in the last few years can make the step up to the first team.

When this guy is appointed we, as a fan base, need to understand the process is going to be like turning round an oil tanker and not get on his back straight from the off.

We then need a proper summer transfer window. Identify targets early and get them in way before the first pre-season game. We need to negotiate contracts with those expiring or get rid at the earliest opportunity for the best price to allow us to replace them properly.

Then we need to target, young, mobile, athletic, up and coming footballers from here and abroad. We need to look at players who can develop with us and who will provide resale value in the future and we need to imbed them straight away into a system that suits them and excites the fans.

All of this needs to have wilder, and his cronies, absolutely nowhere fucking near it.

I’m 90% he needs to go. Yes had a poor hand in window but Donovan aside wasted money on old, unfit and past it players like Hamza and BBD. Deluded. Takes no responsibility. Blames front two for all ills. Poor performances. Not sure what the game plan is. This is speaking as a CW fan.

Problem is that if we’re not careful ….we’ll be in League 1!!

Board sold all his players
Nobody knows the club better than he does, he just gets us
Always best when he has no money
Proper football man
Nobody could do more with this squad
As bad as Wednesday fans, entitled
United fans are all thick
Give it till Xmas, we'll be top 8
Stats are for nerds/stats show we were unlucky
You all just hate Wilder. Must be Pigs

We're only 1 win off 8th
Just wait until Seriki is back

Absolutely unbelievable that the arrogant, ignorant twat is deflecting any blame towards him towards the players! He is running scared ,!

Just been sent this from a piggie mate from one of their forums. Apparently kid who put it is involved in the game in some capacity.

"Wilder's agent has been hawking him round other clubs since last May but have had nobody even remotely interested. That's why he signed the new contract in July.

As KM has said. The owners want him out but can't afford it. He wants out but no one else will have him. It won't be long before he's dropping barbed comments at the board and trying to engineer a payout. Then he can tell his, now dwindling, faithful they've sacked him and he wanted to stay"

Yeah, none of this is true

They're not gonna sack him. The last time they did certain sections of the fanbase went into absolute meltdown and stamped their feet until he came back. They'll be terrified of the same response.

It's quite different though isn't it?

How is it we are always playing top teams, with strong squads, and we always have a good shape without the ball? It’s the same old statements every week. Plus he sees players having good games, whereas we see virtually no one having a good game.
I propose a cardboard cutout and an old cassette player for the post Lincoln match, as I have heard it so many times I could do the voice over@!

Well of course it is, but the way some of our supporters (including on here) act, you would genuinely think he's untouchable due to him being ... checks notes... one of our own.

The reason it's quite different is that would have been correct a year ago, and is clearly miles off right now.
