This is the list ChatGPT came up with. This was the prompt: Who would be a good person to manage Sheffield United? Must be able to work within a budget, play attacking football, be under 45, have managed in top two divisions in a major footballing country, speak English, would want to develop their career further in English football.
I wanted Skubala before he left Lincoln. Challinor or Mousinho would be my pics now, although Corberan is available again.

Well it certainly comes across as disrespectful.
Can you honestly say that performances so far this season have been acceptable? The experienced players CW has brought in come with severe limitations - none of them seemingly able to last 90 minutes. Formations & tactics have been questionable - we have recruited more DMs but still get run through far too easily.
In what way is it disrespectful?

So would you rather play well and lose?

Maybe he tried to recruit different positions but couldn't get them to sign? You have no idea what he does and doesn't do. Maybe stop moaning, accept your moaning does nothing to change the situation (or if anything it actively damages rather than improves) and get behind the team.

Write a letter of complaint and explain your outrage Wilder

Still waiting for a reply to this. What footballing intelligence do you have to enable you to challenge people who have a legitimate view? Are you SPECIAL?

And precisely what footballing intelligence do you profess to have? Are you Fallowfield in disguise and have your Pro License? Or a manager like the late lamented Adkins who was on here taking the name of one of our Goalkeepers.

"I am leaning into the idea that perhaps most of his detractors don't have a high footballing intelligence"
You don't see that as disrespectful? The fact that you put a disclaimer immediately after it suggests otherwise.

"Maybe he tried to recruit different positions but couldn't get them to sign? You have no idea what he does and doesn't do"
And neither do you. It's not the positions that's the issue - it's who has been recruited to fill those positions.

Last time I checked this is a forum where we're allowed to express our opinions. So I'll moan if I want to thank you very much.

I'm certainly not in favour of sacking Wilder. At least at the moment. He is the man for us in our current situation.
I don't think he's the main issue.
The main issue is our current owners.
Look what happened the last time they sacked him!
Look at who They brought in then.
Look at where that left us.
If they sack him now They have shown They have no idea who would be best as a replacement.
They are the ones who have left him in the position of having to sell off our best assets. And leaving him in the position of only bringing in loans and free agents
Wilder has shown he can operate successfully with a decent budget. He has, in the past with us , and at other clubs shown he can operate successfully with limited funds.
Wilder is not the problem.
Should we get a 12 point deduction I can't think of a better man to keep us up.
If we don't get a points deduction, I believe he will at least get us in a play off spot.

There is no chance we get in the play offs with wilder in charge, he’s assembled a poor squad, is tactically inept, stubborn, we have no style of play and he clearly can’t motivate the players. We’ll finish 13th place at best. He’s done, time for us to move on from him.

The difficult thing is that he’s assembled such an average squad then regardless of who we bring in we’ll struggle. And people can say “but we’ve sold our best players”…correct, but look at what he’s doing with the players we have, and how unfit they are despite the magical “pre-season”.

It is too true, the problem with Wilder is his constant obsession with high pressing football... "getting the press right". We don't have the high fitness levels throughout the squad to be able to carry this off and then when he has the recruitment opportunity he already has Rothwell, brings back Jairo, Phillips and Hamza. With the squad we have got we almost need to be doing the opposite as to what we are trying to do, rather than high press with fullbacks (we don't even play a formation for them) we should be setting up a lot deeper, frustrating football for a frustrating squad but it will get us results even a 4-2-2-2 formation with a straight back 4, 2 DM's in front sat behind 2 AM's/Wingers and 2 ST's either as a 2 or a 1-1 (one dropping deep/false 9) you might invite a bit of pressure but most clubs (not all) aren't brilliant when they are forced into making decisions. The aim would be to defence our way out of games and catch teams out with the odd goal on the counter/set piece.
