Nothing will spoil what he oversaw from 2016-2020 but sad to say, I've grown weary of him.
First time around I used to agree with almost everything he said in post match interviews. Yeah, he rarely took any responsibility for poor results but he also was driving on players and trying get the absolute most out of them, which he did until many hit a wall during 2020/21.
Now it's just deflection and contradiction. Irrespective of ownership issues, he's brought in these players - how much did people think was going to be spent this summer, who was he expecting to bring in that has had the rug pulled?
He's as culpable as anyone and his desired experience is just older players who look either incapable anymore or just not that motivated.
The style of play isn't just boring, it's pitiful, out-dated, and ineffective.
It feels to me like the game has passed him by in a matter of years.
You can't keep living on past glories, especially those that only lasted a few years.
We can definitely replace him with someone worse but the very best we'll do with him now is tread water and potentially cause further damage to the squad and club finances.
