I was going to post this to a comment by 54 Blade about how dislikeable he’d become in his interviews. But anyone who has met him when he’s with his immediate circle of mates can tell you what an arrogant pisshead arsehole he can be and outside that when his immediate circle of mates aren’t around he’s not a likeable character. You’d not warm to him.

I dont know him personally and it's nearly 30 years since I mixed with him on nights out.

I know a few who are good mates with him but as well as not seeing them much, I don't get discussing his contribution as I appreciate their loyalty to him.

My son can tell one or two tales though.

I bet he can. Those round him are fiercely loyal. I can appreciate that. If I were him I’d value that. However it contributes to his sense of immunity and entitlement.

It’s easy to paint a picture of the type of guy wit is from his socials. Wilder not so but of the stories I’ve heard not one has shown him as a nice bloke.

None of that’s relevant of course in terms of playing football. But he’s clearly had his day in that sense as well.

Never wanted him back and I’ve wanted a fresh start since Selles left.

Just finally given it a listen. He's hard to listen to now - sounds like some of the past interviews in the days we all try and forget. The fact that he said 'the first goal is horrendous' says it all. It did feel as though we were thrashed, yet made no attempt to change it and then just put a load of forwards on with no real tactical thought. Also, the goal didn't give them a huge lift - it was completely deserved and they were already completely overrunning us all over the pitch.

Appreciate it's not all on him but he's now calling out players who all fell into his transfer strategy both last season and this - Cannon, Jairo, Rothwell, Doherty, and contracts for Campbell and RND. And to date, Hamza and BBD haven't given us any hope of things getting better. It's like this has all been done to him and nothing to do with him - we still have a huge wage bill for the league.

Great motivation for the players then that, I’m sure they’re going to now want to play for Wilder.

that performance last night stank of a group of players who don’t believe in what they’ve being asked to do, don’t want to do what they’re being asked to do and don’t particularly want to play for their manager.

At this point of the season - what you see on the pitch is a replication of what they’re being asked do on the training ground. So it would appear training is bang average, there’s no real plan or identity.
just posted same on another thread i think hes lost the dressing room no way back imo i think he will be gone by the end of october at the latest

Not sure he's lost it yet but I think, along with a few others, he's well on his way to losing it. Don't think he can change his character but he does come across as being very abrasive, a caricature of a typical Yorkshireman who says 'a spade's a spade and a shovel's a shovel'. A good trait at times but not great for team spirit - especially when struggling.
As for post match antics - 'you only sing when you're winning ' springs to mind.

I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say 😂😂😂

He didn't have to accept the deal. Who else was offering him a contract?
I’m not disputing that.

In simply saying that offering someone less this week than you were paying them last week isn’t going to be the most motivating.

I've said for a while now the club needs a reset from Bettis downwards, because we have owners who aren't "day to day " involved, I honestly think Bettis does run the financial side quite well, but he's not a football man which brings us to the "controversial " DOF discussions ? ,if we do eventually go down this road it has to be someone who has really good contacts across the continent at least and the experience to develop the academy and first team support staff. But don't get involved with the footballing style of whoever is coach at the time.
The club is in financial turmoil, whether that is Bettis fault or not.
Suppliers have not been paid, and they are on hold with a lot of companies.

The transfer money received is being used to pay off debts.

Got us mixed up with the team accross road there lad.

This.

Bettis either needs to go or be given some extra help. It seems only him and wilder are running the entire club between them, its bonkers (we must be only club in top 3 divisions to be like this).

Bettis needs to focus on financial & business side of things and not have to go through all the football strategy and transfers etc. We need a pure football man as you mentioned (Des taylor style) to be a go between and focus on the footballing structure and planning along with player transfers.

The manager needs to focus on the football and coaching and implementing the strategy along with leasing with scouts and the dof to identify what type of player he wants - he shouldn't be doing nithing more or nothing less.

We should have a fitness head coach that is in charge of the fitness department and their job to focus on ensuring we have the conditioning and well maintained players we can get, including recovery and ensuring players are more robust and less likely to have niggly Injuries throughout the season.

Make sure eveything is seperate department not in the back pocket of the manager or the managers old pals. This way it works as a proper business and not just yes man jobs answering to just the manager. It also ensures we have the option of being able to sack a manager and not worry about the infrastructure crumbling in like other season with wilder-selles farce.

From the Steve Rosen video, hopefully they are in the process of doing lots of this.
It sounded as they knew CW was running everything (after he was sacked) . Which along with Selles being crap, all the other aspects were headless. He said they were putting things in place so all the different departments ran properly.
So, hopefully, we are in transition to what you describe. Whether that includes a DoF setup, wasn’t touched on.

This was the most encouraging thing about the Rosen interview. It did sound as if they had identified the fundamental problem, albeit belatedly. The test will be how they remedy it, especially if they don’t get further investment. Bringing more money in is going to be key, either by selling it or bringing in new investors.

Sounds like it's going to be the acid test. Modern football club structures are very much of a "build it and they will come" scenario. We need to put a professional management hierarchy in place and if the first team's manager doesn't like it, well, he'll have an exit clause in that lucrative contract of his.

"no one else could get anything more out of this squad"

Except for all those managers doing a lot more with a lot less. We're even below Preston in some of these stats and they've been awful!

Who told you? A pig fan or saw it on their forum?

The co chairman said himself that all our suppliers bills are paid. We are more financially stable than under the older regime.
And you would trust what the co chairman says that is trying to get out paying the £35 million they owe?
Believe it or don't, but companies are unpaid and they are on hold with a lot of suppliers that they have used for years.

If the pa had concealed debt that these owner wasnt ware off until after the purchase which these are alluring too. Then I dont blame them for renegotiating the price they had paid. Not sure how tbey purchase something as pricey without doing deep dive checks like.

Also if pa didnt cover himself with the price and payments. Then thats on him and his own daft fault. No sympathy and most people in business would do the same re getting out of paying it.

What postion do you hold in the inner workings of sufc to know we are not paying suppliers as we cant afford it?
