If he’s got ME, he’s passed it on to Campbell.

why can't professional footballers get fit ffs , we hear it all the time with our squad , "he's not up to speed , he gased out after 50 mins " What the fucks up with them !

In a way it is a big season for him, although not meant really in the terms of how Wilder bigged him up, at 27 when his contract expires if he hasn't had a decent season and isn't injury free he will find not many takers, he should be out of the door, especially as we have Curtis. He won't get that salary anywhere else, so might have to hope his fitness holds out and take a drop down a few leagues. But if he does some how have a big season we could take an option to risk a 1 year plus option to extend.

Looking at contracts next summer is an interesting one:

Whilst there is some opportunity to further reshape the wage structure we need to start working through some of these contracts or consider some other departures in January or their value is going to be next to nothing.

Looks like next summer is the perfect time to clear out the management and start fresh. I'm sure the owners have learnt a lot and will actually do some interviews next time.

This is why they extended Wilder's contract, let him rebalance the squad - get the high earners out of the club and put a solid platform in place for whatever comes next. We wouldn't want to retain any of those contracts expiring next year with maybe the exception of Baptiste. With the exception of Campbell the next batch should all have new contracts at some point this season.
