I don't understand why reduced wages aren't put into players contracts if they are off work due to illness for an extended period of time. I'm not saying that they should just go onto statutory sick pay. If I went off on long term sick, it would be 6 months full pay, 6 months half pay then zero pay.

They kind of are. If a player isn’t playing they won’t be getting bonuses and loads have commented in the past that we offer relatively low base wages with big bonuses. Promotion bonus under Hecky was quite chunky if I remember right.

I just checked JS has made 12 appearances for us... not sure I remember them

AB also made 12 appearances last season.

I think he played today due to us not having any other option. I’d expect Choudhury or the Hull lad to be our right back again Bolton

Agree with this. He reminds me of Ben Osborn, sure he’s got a great football mind and is tidy but he’s just not strong enough, cannot get round a man or outpace a full back

There was a moment near the end of the game, Shackleton just aimlessly kicked it out under absolutely no pressure. The camera panned in on his face and he blew his cheeks out and wheezed like he'd just completed a really hard 10k and was sat waiting for his latte in the cafe like me, after a jog on a Saturday morning. Incredible and summed up where we are at.
