our recruitment this summer actually makes me want to throw up:

Doherty 🤢 old
Phillips 🤢 injury prone
Ayew 🤢 old

Kitchen 🟠 - hopefully will come good
BBD 🟠 - coming back from a bad injury
Choudary 🟠- not played many games before arriving

Donovan ✅ - quality

Have I missed anyone ?
But once we roll out the Delorean and Chris sets it to 2019, who will be laughing then, eh?

Sorry but you're talking bollocks, look at his assists record
Not you particularly... But sometimes I think some posters only watch the big 6 on Sky and think every player should be as good as Ronaldo, Henry or whoever.

Sometimes have to get real and acknowledge a player spent his career at the top level for a reason.

Palace fan here. Jordan Ayew played just under 200 games for us.

How would I describe him? Defensive utility forward is the closest summary I can think of.

He's a reasonably large, reasonably mobile lump who is physical and always put in a shift. Runs the lines hard, bullies defenders, and presses aggressively.

Not really a dribbler, not brilliant in front of goal, but not terrible at these things either.

We used him mainly as a defensive winger who gives his fullback good protection.

Downside is he's now 34, so he's almost certainly on the decline.

But he was always an honest, hard-working player who played for the team, and I liked him.

We could have gone in for Forss or Matondo, but we’ve inexplicably gone for Ayew instead.
They're all crap! What we should have done is acted when the transfer window was still open rather than scrambling around for free agents for the 2nd season running.
I could excuse it last season because of the mess Wilder was left with after the Selles debacle, but it's unforgivable to be doing it again.
Piss poor planning United.
We should have had another attacking loan lined up even before we lost O'Hare on deadline day. When he left, we arguably needed two more and we've ended up with Jordan bleeding Ayew.

Jeez...I know we were stacking our squad with defensive midfielders, but now we're adding defensive forwards!

It was the quote about wanting to raise the age of the team and couldn't understand why. Nothing more, just saying that we did have a relatively young side. Here is the full list

We knew O’Hare was leaving but still decided to sign a DM that we’re playing at RB AKA Choudhury. We clearly needed to use that money on an attacking player.

I’ve no sympathy for Wilder, he’s as much to blame for this shit show as the owners.

Maybe we'll get lucky and he picks up an injury early on before he takes out Cooper or Bamford for the season in training?

If he can fill the role of the 'defensive winger', as the Leicester City (spits on the floor!) poster describes him, he's custom made for a Wilder formation and approach.

Things are looking up.

I don't watch football other than United and very rarely England.

So if he's a striker he's shit at scoring goals, and if he's a winger he's shit at setting them up. What does he actually bring to the table? Other than the fact he looks a bit of a dirty bastard

What list is that? It seems to be a mix of last season and this season’s Championship.

It doesn’t seem age is a problem when our average is not really much different to Coventry and Hull (Ipswich aren’t listed so don’t know how we compare to the other promoted team.)

I'm not actually defending us signing a 34/35 year old because of our ineptitude.

I'm just saying Ayew was a good player, even if he's not now.
It is our ineptitude that keeps on signing this calibre of player. I’ve never seen a more damming assessment of a player from other clubs, especially coming from Leicester,I cannot stop laughing with the signing of this one. Every body screamed at Selles ,look at this lot. I’m sure he’s played for Brian the blade, windows fitted as a signing on fee.
