We know who went out of the club and the reported fees but we don’t what budget Wilder was given or whether this changed during the summer from supposedly ‘buying Souttar’ for millions to ‘frees and loans’ for smaller fee/wages.

First half I enjoyed it .. thought go to we were the better team , fashioned the better chances scored one , had one ruled out and scored one. However, both goals were stupid mistakes by us AGAIN.

Second half - utter tripe , they make some adjustments to how they play and bingo Wilder scratches his arse and walks around in circles … we were utter crap …

EXACTLY same as against Bolton.

Subs - we just have to accept our squad depth and balance is poor so any sub until Jan will weaken the team.

Wilder loses massive pints for brig down the tunnel before it had been fully dragged out .

The most disappointing aspect of today was our inability on the pitch and by Wilder and coaches, to see what is happening in a game and to make adjustments in response.

From the first few minutes it was clear that Choudray was being exposed by Musaba. We had to watch this for 80 odd minutes before it changed, when Norwich subbed off the man of the match. What in f£%& are our opposition scouts, our stats teams and coaches actually doing?

There were 4 options in making adjustment in trying to solve the problem of Musaba racing on to the ball at pace and delivering crosses.

1. reduce the space he runs into by sitting 10 yards deeper thus giving our defenders the chance to face the ball rather than our own goal.

2.Adjust our positioning so we move from a 442. To a 451, with Campbell out wide and Romelle screening in front of Musaba. Romelle was the only player to consistently get near him and execute an effective tackle.

3. Put on McGuinness and move Tanganga to RB as a blocker.

4. Take off Campbell and put Philips on with Ridewald and Peck in CM to cut off the supply lines which were mostly coming from the centre of the pitch.

5. Put on an older fullback you bought earlier this season and hope he has the cop on to stay 10 yards in field of Musaba so he is the one having to make decisions on the ball. Choudary was running out to challenge at pace and made it easy for Musaba to slip by.

Instead of any of this we got Philips to impersonate riedewald. Arblaster for BBD, Shackleton for Donovan, Cannon to impersonate a U14 player playing U18 because we are stuck. And Wilder's great tactic of taking off a full back for another one who didn't need changing.

Norwich were dodgy at the back but their attacking play was quick and direct. We had Slimane and hardly gave him a game he looked streets ahead of most of our players.

A last point, what was Wilder's reasoning for replacing McCallum and McGuiness, for RND and Kitchens who had 5 days to get up to speed.

We on the other hand looked like we were making it up as we went along...baring for the move which led to our goal.

We desperately need a "playmaker".

Oh i might add that a defeat has been coming when you look how close we were to defeat against the two promoted teams we played in the last two games.

Choudhury again getting beat for pace by musaba feel like we need to scrap the 4-4-2 formation because it’s not working even though wilder likes it bring in a left winger on a free and try the 4–3-3 formation defence is still pretty poor looking kitching looked ok at times still needs to get up to speed

Wilder has been dealt a bad hand by the owners but he’s making it worse because he’s being just Wilder.

Chowdhury is a right back because I signed him and I say so. No he IS NOT. Two games we have watched him show us amateur football managers all we need to know. Why the fuck did you sign Doherty and maintain it was a big time for Shackleton?

Tanganga is my captain and he deserves to play. No he doesn’t. Hes fucking slow, slow to react and quite frankly an appalling reader of the game. He has no leadership skills. Much as I dislike the walking red card that is Phillips, I’d prefer he was given the armband and told to shake them up rather than pussyfooting about with Tanganga. Even McGuinness, slow as he is, READS the game better.

Their Right Bsck and RCB were on bookings in quick succession 1st half,and at that point ii thought it would have been worth switching Donavon onto the left and with his pace and trickery they'd be walking a tightrope.
Norwich didn't have to play well to win today,our players aren't upto playing 2 games a few days apart yet..2nd half we were way off.

I could tell you that the interview reveals our budget is 34m (85% of 40m income) . In addition, under the new EFL rules, a further 33m is available in any three-year period (with a maximum of 15m payable to the club by the owners in any one year). The budget therefore could be 34m this year or if they think this is the best year to push for promotion, it could be up to 49m. Listen to the interview and read the spending rules. It’s easy to understand.

However, if I was to inform you of the above, would your response be “thank you”. Somehow I doubt it.

However, it’s important under the EFL spending rules to not confuse budget available to Chris wilder and the amount he has available for spending on players. Chris gets a budget but he has significant overhead costs and recurrent costs as well as major support staff costs. For example, we’ve seen the value of boosting medical staff costs in recent years to stem the number of first team player injuries and recovery times. We also all know the value of spending major amounts on our academy to upgrade it. Even things like club travel costs for players and support staff to away matches will cost circa 1% of the total budget .

So let’s talk about budgets but in the round. Player budgets (and the small subset of that in transfer fees) is a smallish fraction of the budget Chris manages and there are many competing calls on his budget where the opportunity costs of not spending are far greater.

I imagine most people are referring specifically to the transfer budget when they ask/tell you ‘how much the budget is’ during a transfer window and not the running costs of the club where wages take up the bulk of spending.

According to ‘transfer market’ we have spent zero on fees whilst receiving £24 million in sales.

So I’ll suggest most people won’t consider us to have had a ‘top 8’ transfer budget this season.

In fact we appear to be bottom of that particular league.

Now all this might be fine if we’d just been relegated from the Prem with a squad full of decent players.

But this is following one of the worst transfer windows in the clubs history under the previous manager and new ‘Ai overlords’.

During season ticket sales we were told a ‘rebuild’ was needed and would occur.

The opposite has happened with the squad shorn of its best players and ‘freebies, loans’ ( and crocks) coming in to fill the gaps.

So ‘in the round’ fans are talking of ‘asset stripping’ and the like.
