Crying out for 3-5-2/5-3-2 or 3-4-3/5-2-3 this squad, got to be better defensively if we’re not gunna create much. Anything has to be better than this surely?

4-4-2 is miles too open.

It has to be 4-3-3. Problem with most of those others is that you remove Donovan or at least ask him to do things they aren’t his strength.

Yeah he’s my only concern with the formation I put forward, 3-4-3 could work with him and BBD as the wingers/inside forwards, fuck knows tbh just hate seeing 4-4-2 don’t have the quality in midfield/anywhere else on the pitch to play it

This team lacks everything to play 4-4-2 efficiently. No pace, no quick ball movement, no precision. Instead they're always outnumbered in midfield.

We are a bottom 8 side, there appears to be no belief in the dugout that any of this needs to be changed and it'll just work eventually. 5 league games in and there's no evidence of that. We are incredibly fortunate to be on 6 points.

It’s unfortunate but buying lots of players that weren’t up to it last summer is only fixable if you then offload then the next window. The impact is that when SCR comes along you sell who you can sell and unsurprisingly those that came in last summer attract little interest.

We’re playing every game like we’re a lower league side in an FA cup tie. We’re 2 goals down at home and can’t get any control of the ball or sustain any pressure, all the game is being played at the other end like it was against Bolton. It’s a tough watch.

Exactly this.

You have to be elite physically to play 4-4-2. Quick, powerful, stamina etc... Nothing that we are.

And cannot believe anyone wanted choudhury back. He was rubbish before and he's rubbish now. Played well play off final but no other game. He's actually worse at CM which is saying something.

I don't want to think it now, but if we are getting a deduction maybe it would be best this season as I don't think we are putting up much of a fight in a relegation battle this season.

Good for a 30 minute spell of the first half, very poor for the rest of it and that isnt going to see us pick up many wins. Serious work needed in tightening up the defence or we going to be needing to score 3 goals every week to get results.

Is this any better then last seasons start? Obviously points wise it is, but we have played worse opposition. At least last season we had the attacking options and Wilder coming back to believe we could change things around. I don't see how we're going to significantly improve enough to not be in a relegation battle from what we've seen so far

The fact we've conceded 7 goals in three games and you could make a case for Cooper being man of the match in all three is pretty worrying defensively. A lot of chances come down Choudhury's side but the second going straight through the middle and letting them pass along the edge of our box unchallenged for the first were just as bad.

We also gave up 18 shots again today after 28 at Cardiff and around 18 again I think against Bolton.

At what point do we look at Tanganga as the problem? No matter who he plays next to we get split open way too easily
