I’ll take that point… there will be a lot of disappointed people on the forum … because we didn’t get beaten.
Sounds like a very bad performance but it’s one game.
Let’s not get suicidal until after the two home games this week.
Hopefully just a bad day at the office.
I’ll put my tin hat on 😁

We got away with one there. I think we can see where Wilder’s ambition lies if this is how we are approaching our away games. Looks like it’s a survival season rather than looking upwards!

Only positive is somehow managing a point but serious concerns going forward.

No semblance of a style of play, no balance, no structure, ridiculous amount of space given all over, little ambition in the game, and little in the players to come in or return to notably improve us.

Don't think its a bad point. Newly promoted team at home. They also pegged Wrexham back the other week.

Just need to get Phillips, Jairo starting because Peck is playing with his head in his arse and Rothwell basically done after 45mins.

2nd half Cardiff were nowhere near as dangerous as the first where they were basically opening us up at will.

At least we scored in the league finally.

Absolutely awful performance. We can't pass the ball... Almost every time it goes to an opposition player. Then we resort to hoof ball. Cardiff should have won that comfortably.

Unbelievable fantastic point against a powerful powerful football club make no mistake these will be unbelievably competitive in the bottom quarter of the league

Match summary: Lucky AF
Let’s hope that’s the worst we play this season.
Not sure what happened to Donovan today after his fabulous performance at Blackburn.
Did he make a single attacking run?
Peck was shocking all game. Dunno why.
Phillips played well but has acquired Gus Hamer’s body profile.
BBD in his brief cameo looks as slow as when he last played for us.
O’Hare our best player, and well done Cooper.
Under the cosh for much of the game so take another point and move on.
That will leave us on -9 after the deduction,

That was terrible in terms of retaining possession.

I suppose a point away from home etc.

Only problem is this isn’t a point away at West Ham, it’s a point at a newly promoted team we just made look like Brazil.

That being said, we sold Brooks because we need the money, ditto Hamer and we’ve been the only no spenders in the division.

Making us functional and ugly is a pragmatic response.

After that we defended all the set pieces well which we would undoubtedly buckled under last season. Cooper was confident and competent.

Minutes for a few that were lacking. You could also argue it’s a bit rough having three games on the road too, though we haven’t lost any of them.

What we need is a win at home on Tuesday to get going. Then it doesn’t look like too bad a start.

I’m not disappointed to get a point and you can’t underplay what losing Seriki does to this side; he would have given them a lot to think about out wide. I can understand why we’d be going for Drameh.

We didn’t lose. That’s the positive.

We’ll have a chance to get BBD into the team for the next one and probably look more of a threat.

RND and Phillips played well. Felt sorry for O Hare and Cannon, didn't have a decent pass to them all second half. Shackleton, Peck and Rothwell running in treacle.

I'd like Wilder to explain why our players put so little effort into stopping crosses into our box.

Does any fooker know what style of play/game plan we had there?? Cos I’m stumped! Extremely disappointing after signs of positivity midweek!
Fair play to Cardiff though… they absolutely battered us and deserved all 3 points!

When was it decided that the only way for us to exist is as a 30% possession sort of football club? Especially away from home, no matter who the opponents are

It wouldn't be so bad if we were good at it, but we're not

We need a top class defence to make it work. Which is why Wilder is so focused on Souttar and Phillips. Lean on their quality and experience to muddle through in the absence of anything actually coherent that involves coaching

Negative football has been Wilder's trademark since he left first time round
It's what and who he is now.
One of Wilders mantras is we are not a counter attacking team. Well Chris, if you play that deep for 80mins you feckin well need to be. Problem is Cannon looked like he was running through treacle on through balls.
They had so much space in middle 50% of field it was frightening

Not a great performance but Swansea & Cardiff away and we get a point at both. Take that all day long.
Agreed.
Two home wins this week turns it into a very good start but both games will be tough in different ways. Norwich will be full of confidence.
Feels like a huge week very early in the season.

how cardiff never got a 3rd today is beyond me 23 shots to 5 & 9 on target to 3. we take a point & be grateful we've got away with 1
