Let's not forget that at Wilders behest the board have spent a fortune on wages of two injury prone, cant complete 90 mins, central midfielders, neither of which was deemed good enough or fit enough to start at Swansea. We've spent some money but you might argue not in the right areas.

We knew with the tightened budget it was going to be a difficult summer and thst wed lose at least a couple of good players. Hopefully there wil be more to cone in bit currently we've got 5 CMs for 2 places and not one LM, thats not the boards fault!

I'd be more concerned if we wasted money bringing in players for the sake of it because of paranoid words like "depth" and "experience"
Thats the remit though? But different words such as "characters" and "culture carriers"

We will sign players, 3 on loan would be my guess. Think there will be a good few that leave as well, just hope it is none of the main ones.
i also think 3 will come in but im pretty sure one of peck burrows or cannon will be sold

Been expecting Peck to leave all summer, amazed he is still here.
Burrows I think theres a chance but unless it’s unbelievable money (7 mill minimum) then I wouldn’t
If what I hear about Cannon is true then it’s going to be very expensive to get him with the fee and he is on big wages.

We have been hot with a double whammy

1) Piss poor recruitment when we did have money to spend

2) No parachute payments restricting purchases this year

If we had got point 1 right in the last two trf windows point 2 wouldn’t be as big a problem as it currently is

Legal issues are likely to rumble on for months, potentially the whole season.

I’ve written this season off in my mind now. I’m not expecting anything much to happen. Hopefully we just manage to tread water away from any serious trouble at the bottom of the table until the club stabilises.

It’s wank but it is what it is.

Saturdays will be about enjoying a few points with the lads with zero expectations on the field for me

wouldnt suprise me if all 3 went and if that happened i think the souttar deal could be back on as well as maybe 3 solid loans personally i dont believe everything that wilder states in pressers

Five days to go and still no sign of a signing.
Reminds me of a pantomime, ' five miles from London and still no sign of Dick'.

What's the odds on the final day we sign some aging injury prone ex PL player whose not kicked a ball in a season. Under the banner we need experience and he'll be good in the dressing room.I

That or nobody

Whilst losing Peck and Sereki. Followed by the statement well we've no more parachute money so need to cut out cloth accordingly in order to move forwards.

You never know, we could scrape 8th and be the first Championship team in history to be promoted to the PL from 8th place, and we'd be safe from the EFL points deduction next season.

to help with this thought process I suggest

Agree, think he made a bit of a mistake stating his demands and confidence in signing Souttar.
Leicester realised we were desperate to buy and increased the price to close to £10 million, ludicrous for a player with a bad injury record.

Now Wilder seems to have publicly cooled his interest in Souttar and we are looking elsewhere.
Now it’s Leicester’s turn to panic, they must offload some big earners or face a large points deduction.
On deadline day….wouldn’t be surprised if they are so desperate to sell, they lower the price to nearer £5 million.

Literally every fooker bar us is signing players.

Wrexham just bought a right back from City for 2m, and a left back for 8m from France (didnt they just sign an expensive right back and spent a lot on the Kiwi left back?). Also speaking to Mehmeti.

Charlton are just splashing 5m on JRS.

Derby talking to Choudhury.

Bristol City sign Adebayo.

Swansea signing a midfielder from Porto for 3.4m.

Even the Pigs have signed Al Hamadi on loan; piss takers that they are.

Barnsley paying 500k for Blackburn’s centre half.

Brentford also now bidding for West Ham’s left back. Will that trigger a move for HB?
There will be players we e bud for, probably in less an, but I wouldn't rule out the odd permanent if say Peck leaves and thereby boofs the coffers.

Being angry at Wilder for the board not signing his targets is insanity
We can be annoyed at him (and his team) identifying targets miles out of our budget though, that’s before we get to the predictably of his targets being ‘players we’ve tried to sign (or have played for us) before’

Scouts/analysts should have been marched out of the building on 1st June and replaced with competent staff.

I reckon 2/3 more in. It will no doubt depend on who leaves also.

I'm cautiously optimistic that we may be pleasantly surprised on who does come in over the next 6 days. Probably no one before Saturday mind which is frustrating.

We've got the basis of a strong championship team already but we know we need more on the left wing. Id personally still like to see a forward come in. A Steve Kabba type to run at defenders with pace. That probably depends on someone leaving though. Maybe One will play a big part this season and offer that pace. He's obviously tall too so has a presence.

But I'm optimistic right now but that can be the issue! That's probably why so many fans are convincing themselves to expect nothing because we've seen it all before!

Is...
Youre selling my players and not bringing any in, an excuse? 🤣
When has he said that in the press conferences?

Im talking specifically about what he's said, he's clearly agreed with the sale of both Hamer and Brooks.

I don't think we know who the majority of his targets are though? Romelle Donovan not many would have heard of and he looks promising.

How do we know our budget? How do we know teams haven't moved goalposts? We've missed out on a couple of free transfers early as well.
I have thought the same as you at times, especially with Dobbin..but there's so many moving parts in transfers, our ownership has obviously added to all the confusion and difficulties.

I'm not sure complaining or excuses are quite accurate.

I think he and other managers are frustrated in the way the market is this summer and how it runs beyond the start of the season .

Explaining the reality of it isnt really offering excuses , thats just communicating the situation.

Common sense and reality are not what social media forums are for though.

A window of something like: Riedewald, Phillips, Doherty, Brereton-Diaz, Webster, Worrall... is quite funny. Surely we'll go in for Choudhury?!

He said he didn't want to lose them but in Hamer instance club policy is rather get a fee instead of running down the contract.

Brooks instance club felt 8-10m is a fair fee. For a player with ability but currently sheff united feels is not guaranteed of progressing much higher up the chain. (Could end up being very wrong or not at all)

In all honesty I can see the argument. I did want more for Hamer though than the 6m. And poss more add-ons for Brooks.

When was the last time we heard from him? Fans forum? Radio Sheffield interview last october?
Wilder keeps talking about him in odd presser. He was also present at the summer training camp with our current overlords.
