By who?

Hecky would be a backwards step, we got rid because he wasn't good enough.
Heckingbottom was sacked because he was taking us down, but Ferguson, Clough, Mourinho and Guardiola combined would have all failed to keep that squad in the Premier League. You can’t judge Heckingbottom based on that season, he was completely shafted by the board.

Just like these 🤠yee rrrs lol .

If 20% each club then Donny bring in 300k, useful for them, and we get 60k of that.

Not insignificant when you compare it to day to day costs of ticketing staff rather than players.

I did suggest this earlier but when it was mentioned we sold him to Donny not PNE I’d forgotten about the knock on effect.

I reckon Hecky had zero chance of success that season. But equally he didn’t do himself many favours in those few months in the Prem. The Newcastle shambles was terribly naive.

Whilst I’d write that whole period off as redundant, others are less forgiving…. It’s just a given in football that such a period of results demands a sacrificial offering, regardless of circumstances.

That newcastle game in itself was a farce. It shouldn't have being played due to MC tragic news, who the players will have known.

And then on top of that newcastle should have had 3 or 4 goals ruled out either by officials during the game which was shocking or var itself that seem to not want do their job on 1 team.

Heckingbottom 23/24 = Pedersen 25/26

Dealt an awful hand, but managed to do even worse than they should have done.

Wrexham are such a weird club.

Probably the richest and best backed club outside the premier league / parachute clubs and buy someone like Whiteman.

He’s a decent mid championship utility style midfielder.

Parkinson is holding them back so much.
I loath Parkinson but regardless of that he has been part of what’s happened so far.

It beggars belief though because he makes Stan Ternant look like tomorrows man

Interesting side question. I reckon Ferguson might have kept them up.

Clough, Mourinho and Guardiola would have probably done worse than Heckingbottom because their styles were suited to top quality players.

However, I think Ferguson would have got them battling week in week out and might have got enough to do it. We lost 28 games that season. If Ferguson turned our two defeats to Forest into wins, we would only needed another five extra points to stay up.

They mounted a promotion challenge last season based on signing players like this.Rathbone for instance, signed from Rotherham.
I rate Rathbone just like I rate Whiteman, both useful midfielders with unique attributes and plenty of experience.

They aren't top end Championship players though, which is the point.
