I find the comment about being the best player not to get an England cap interesting, especially as we have signed one in this window. I don’t know is it irony that it possibly was Jags then Maguire keeping him out of the CB slots around that time. He is certainly a model professional and I am delighted with this signing, even if he gets low minutes, his presence and experience around the dressing room and training ground will be invaluable. Perfect deal too of 1 year with an option to extend and I can see us taking up that option with the squad as it is. His interviews has shown he is eager to keep playing and clearly enjoys his football. A proper player and just what we needed
