Who's going to buy him though? The only way to attract a buyer (other than to accept a huge loss), is to play him in hus best position, start him regularly and coach him into being a better player. If that was to happen then we'd definitely attract interest in him. Other that he'll just wind up another expensive Wilder flop who leaves on a free when his contract runs out because no one wants to buy him. Another argument for why Wilder can't be trusted with money. The only reason Cannon plays instead of him is the price tag. Literally zero other reason for it, he offers nothing more than Oné and has less upside. We just need to cut our losses and sell Cannon and stop hindering the team.
I defend Wilder until I am blue in the face, but he 100% plays players like Cannon and Brewster because of the price tag and to prove they aren't flops. Im not that high on One, he looked good last pre season but looks clumsy and awkward in this one... but, he definitely offers more than Cannon. The only reason Cannon plays instead of him is the price tag. I think he means the whole togetherness and experience they've had in this camp. He's frustrated with the ins and outs so I think he was concentrating on the positives from the bonding over there.Does anybody understand what Wilder meant by "the overall look at what's happened at the club the last 3 or 4 days" in his presser yesterday?

Cannon off the bench in graves park ??Bamford and one up top
Finesse + unit
Use cannon and campbell off the bench
Bamford and one deserve a rest sometimes (only sometimes)Cannon off the bench in graves park ??
Cheers was looking for something similar.
I think whether we have a lot left to do will largely depend on the decisions we make in the next week.Is it just me, or do we feel like we still have quite a lot to do?!
We're idling towards nothing, with no real sense of urgency.
We have very little depth, across the park.
We need a first choice CB
A first choice CM, especially if anyone leaves.
We are still playing Gus LW and then if he leaves, we have no replacement.
We have an inexperienced kid at RW and no further depth. Huge drop off from Brooks.
We have no pace or athleticism, or creativity. A problem worsened notably if Gus goes.
...and we seemingly have next to naff all resources upon which to do it.
We seem preoccupied with fending off bids for who we do have and we are showing no gumption or ambition to try and improve the squad in any way.
I’ll tell you what, whoever gets that job is going to be busy!Off field re-shape also…though can’t help thinking some of these should have been sorted awhile back…

Agreed with this although the GK spot will likely be either Betts or Hewitson from the U21sThe more and more I think of it, the squad we have is more than capable of a Top 8 finish (as it is!).
We have some very experienced players in Doherty, Riedewald & Bamford. I also think Rothwell has a big part to play this season.
Add to that Souttar if he comes in and potentially Kalvin Phillips.
Chong & Cannon have lots to prove this season. I think Cannon gets 10+
I know we often look up on our team in a more pessimistic way to others, but i genuinely feel we have a good number of players that most teams in the Championship would love to have in their ranks:
Be good to see Arblaster recover back to his pre-injury.
- Cooper
- Tanganga
- Seriki
- McCallum
- Burrows
- Jairo
- Peck
- Hamer
- O'Hare
- Bamford
- Campbell
I do feel some big name will depart, but if we go into the season like this, we should easily be Top 8:
GKs
- Cooper
- Davies
- +New
CBs
- Tanganga
- Souttar
- McGuinness
- Baptiste
Alleyne linked on loan
RWBs
- Seriki
- Doherty (can cover CB)
LWBs
CDMs
- McCallum (can cover CB)
- Burrows
Phillips linked on loan
- Riedewald
- Peck
- Rothwell
- Arblaster
WINGERS/CAMs
- Hamer (can cover CDM)
- O'Hare
- Donovan
- Chong
Mattondo - been on trial
Brereton-Diaz - heavily linked again (can cover ST)
STs
- Bamford
- Cannon
- Campbell
- One
i think your spot on udders we need outgoings to be able to bring players in and to be honest i would take all of the 4 players youve mentioned even archer who despite a bad time here before i still think theres a top championship striker there given the proper serviceDespite all the so called itk’s - I think we’re struggling to get deals over the line due to our lack of cash & the fact that no one wants those terrible players signed last summer.
I can’t see us doing much until last few days of the transfer window when clubs get separate to sign / offload players from squads who they can’t afford to keep on their wage bills eg. Saints have Archer & BBD and Leicester have Choudary, Souttar.
Wilder doesn't trust young forward players, especially at CF. I'm genuinely surprised Oné is still hereOné playing less preseason minutes than Zatterstrom is... Troubling.
That sounds like a him problem. Not an us or an Oné problem, babes.Wilder doesn't trust young forward players, especially at CF. I'm genuinely surprised Oné is still here
Terrible players with long, expensive contracts. Some of those signings are a real burden.Despite all the so called itk’s - I think we’re struggling to get deals over the line due to our lack of cash & the fact that no one wants those terrible players signed last summer.
Yep - sadly - last summers panic buys were the last example of how this club has squandered most of the £500 million we’ve received as a consequence of our 3 premier league seasons and parachute payments. Virtually nothing to show for it. We should be used as an example of how NOT to go about promotion to the Premier League to other clubs.Terrible players with long, expensive contracts. Some of those signings are a real burden.
Electrician - will be provided with a season's worth of 50ps. Must be able to fix fax machines.Off field re-shape also…though can’t help thinking some of these should have been sorted awhile back…

Its also the balance of the squad and keeping the whole squad onboard. That sounds like a him problem. Not an us or an Oné problem, babes.
The squad is threadbare and low on quality as it is, so I won't go wishing for any injuries, but I take your point and agree with it. For me, the answer is we go with 2 up top on a regular basis, and we rotate the 4 forwards week in, week out as part of our 5 subs and we work to forge pairings out of the four of them. Use what we have. Its also the balance of the squad and keeping the whole squad onboard.
Oné, is behind:
Bamford
Cannon
Campbell
For what looks like at the moment, one starting CF. (I don't think he's a left wing)
Its the challenge of bringing through youth. Do you play them ahead of those other 3 players and risk them getting put out.
Best thing for Oné would be for us to go 2 up top and for someone to get an injury. Bit like when Peck got into the team because of Blaster, and he then took his chance.
