A point that I seem to make each season !
I have little interest in football generally until the league season begins and then cannot get really into it until September.

At ten games in we should have a fairly clear view of the direction in which our season is headed. And it is still plenty early enough for a season to be rescued, as Norwich and Southampton demonstrated last season. And ourselves, for that matter. It would also be a big test of the ambition of the owners.

But this is exactly what we said last season. We basically threw away the first 7-8 games of the season and couldn't make up the ground we lost.
All CW's comments indicated this season would be different and we would hit the ground running from game 1 this time. Can you honestly say on today's performance that will happen?

I’m not going to predict anything from a pre season friendly halfway through the transfer window.

We've gone from one of the most innovative tactics and systems that was talked about across Europe and programmed in to the FIFA game, to having absolutely no tactics or systems whatsoever.

A lot of our players (Cannon is the prime example) desperately need coaching and instructions but they aren't getting anything.

Doherty age notwithstanding knitted us together on the RHS.
Campbell looked lively.
O'Hare pretty good.
Defence crying out for a big B++++++d CH though.
And in his cameo RND looked good.
So, the season may well be better than many predict.
Obviously a lot depends on the Window but let us hope the Gods favour us for a change.
By the way, speaking of Gods,it isn't the Football Gods we've upset - it's the Cricket Gods who unfortunately more powerful - witness our demise since August 1973.

Out of interest who are the 70% of today’s squad that will either be sold or want to leave and how you actually know this. Or maybe you just made that up .

I think everyone can clearly see work still needs doing with the squad in a few areas, but to have that outlook 2 weeks before a ball is even kicked in the league is ridiculous.

To make the best of him Cannon needs someone to feed off .
But he and Campbell do not put the effort in that is required of a top class striker, neither of them run the channels and create space and both get knocked off the ball to easily.
Could the coaching and tactics have something to do with it or are they both lost causes

You could hook Cannon up to a 24 hour recording of Shearer/R9 footage, but he’s got the intelligence of a candle so it’s pointless. The managers also said he shouldn’t need to coach players, so the chance of improvement is slim.

Wow Arblaster couldn’t pass lost the ball numerous times in midfield made one decent angled pass blamed others for not collecting his awful passes
RND is a disaster doesn't know how pass n move works and is very laboured
Campbell was very good at pushing players over
