Why no news yet ?

An observation.
The difference in the way our respective boards are engaging with each clubs fans between the city's two main clubs is stark.
I'd like some encouragement as a fan to be honest. I'd take a bit of smoke blown up my ass right now.
It just feels like nobody at board level gives a f@ck about giving our fans something to get excited about.

Why is it taking so long to release news about the, rumoured, changes to the coaching staff ? Has Alan Knill gone ? Is Phil Jones on his way here ? etc
We can't announce it until kits have been released as Phil Jones has said he wouldn't be seen dead in Errea training gear

Maybe blame the local journos rather than the club.

They were the ones peddling the gossip without any real substance, offered different reasoning whilst claiming they knew the facts, and haven't offered anything credible since.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if we didn’t see any inward movement until the back end of the window.

I see this as a three part driven scenario:

1. We have a bloated squad and we’ll be happy to trim the squad to be more workable from a personnel perspective but also from a freeing up funds perspective.

2. Despite noises to the contrary that every manager makes about getting business done early, the reality is still that unless the top clubs have most of their business done, you don’t know the caliber of loan player you might get it you go too early.

3. I’m not convenes there are (m)any absolute ‘must haves’ in the out of contract bucket. Ignore keepers as we are not on for any. Defensively Dael Fry, Adam Webster and Jack Hendry, the latter two already in their 30s. No obvious right backs. No obvious midfielders, Dan Neal aside, and perhaps Maja or Stewart and his injury concerns as forwards.

So it is quite possible a pre-season where the most logical arrivals are late loans as the rest of the squad gets tidied up. It makes for a frustrating summer though!

As fun as it is for us fans to speculate and want news yesterday, just as you don’t get promoted in December, its what squad you have when the window shuts, not what you have a week into it.

A few things need doing so am interested to see how we go about it. We won’t do nothing so why fret?

Let’s enjoy watching these inferior teams at the World Cup!

It does feel like our owners asked for a description of the fan base and got told:

"don't really ask for much, a bit moany but won't really cause too much fuss, appreciate the small things"

they rubbed their hands together, retarmacked the car park and we won't really hear from them part from an update every 6 months or so.

Wednesday's new owners were told "the fan base is deluded, they are the equivalent of a Labrador if you have a bag of treats, you can do anything you want, just wave a biscuit under their nose thats blue and white and they will bounce around any way you want" The new owner could sell Hillsborough for housing development, tell them they are ground sharing with Sheffield FC and as long as they also told them they are headed for the PL, Wednesday fans would be buying flats!

But to be fair to them, the idea of getting a local business in to do some of their hospitality is a good one. that place will be rammed and making money. We should have done the same with our fan zone and got someone like Triple Point in.
