⏱️ FULL TIME | Derby 1-2 Sheffield Utd

Rather Peck stay tbh m8, he's the only combative MF we've got
Me too, but needs must, and he's now the most saleable asset

It's also not too difficult to replace him, because we don't have to do like for like, we have flexibility in what we do

For example, we could sign a more dedicated defensive midfielder

Awful first half but superb second half. Chong's best game for us, Peck dominant, Bamford a threat in second half. UTB!

I just think that Peck with Rothwell or Riedewald are our best partnership options.
Arblaster and Peck doesn't really work and atm we dont know how Arblaster is going to progress after his injury will he be any better after a pre-season only time will tell ?

So 73 points would have got us in the play offs

Just 13 points more

When you look at the sheer number of points we've thrown away, the piss poor results..... that really is nothing

Better results in just 6 or so of the 20+ shitfests would have been enough

We could have easily done it. But it's excusable

Not even getting in the top half though is shocking

Spot on.

If Arblaster and Rothwell between them can be adequate for the more creative midfield role that will put us in a decent place

If not, we've got a problem, because then we'll need to recruit for 2 new starting CMs and not just 1

McBurnie with 2 for Hull. 17 for the season, in 32 starts

So Hull currently 6th

I'd take that now. Just need Boro to hold Wrexham

Imagine if Wilder had been kept in charge during the summer, we would have McBurnie and Bamford up front.
With McB. preventing many of those set piece headers we haven't been able to deal with in our defence.

Selles didn't want him though, not vertical enough.

Never ever want a team to beat us and today is no different. I couldn't give a shit about the playoffs and the permutations...I do however, care about my football club. ALWAYS HAVE. . ALWAYS WILL. UTB!!
There are an awful lot of bollox posts spouted on these Match Threads by supposed supporters of Sheffield United and this ain't one of 'em!

Perfectly put, Menage a petit pois , perfectly put.

Disastrous. Ours was merely terrible.
It’s all about expectations isn’t it? BBC report says achieving 13th is respectable after our disastrous start, and that seems quite reasonable. But I think this group of players was capable of at least the play offs, based on periods of play we have seen. Mind you, at the same time they have looked relegation fodder in the same games!
So the answer is, in the words of the great Mayday Malone, I have two opinions.

Didn't see that coming. Could have been 2 down in 5 minutes.

Sydie immense and Chong playing like he's on a promise.

Away support at their best and included a McBurnie love in.

Great finish Blades - well done! We finish top, of the bottom half that is.

If he stayed we would have got the 84 points required for 2nd place. Despite all his shortcomings. I'm highly confident of that. At least if the owners didn't impose the same transfer window on him

The signings would have been proven championship players who'd have maintained our winning mentality. Most of all possibly, McBurnie

I would have hoped for 2 years not seeing them but with the 15 points deduction scrapped now ,they'il get promotion next season
Starting with that dog shit of a squad, I can't see it. A 6th tier club placed in the championship, would have got more points.

And if they're not starting on -15, they've done some deal with the creditors which will increase the financial strain.
