If I remember correctly united got a free kick, Liverpool wall wouldn't go back full 10 yards so ref booked everyone in wall. Never seen that since.Bert.

It was horrible, even for an artificial pitch. They used to put sand down in those days to deaden the bounce - I swear at Kenilworth Road they used the same stuff they gritted the roads with. Played on it once (when they used to hire it out) and got pushed over, landing on my knee - I was picking out bits of grit for a week!View attachment 232831
