Seriki

Has potential but is another made out of biscuits. As of yet not a reliable option.

Seriki is the only player we have who is capable of taking a man on with pace and skill. Not having him as an option on the bench, at the very least, is farcical — especially when it appears Shackleton is getting that role instead.
Came to say exactly this. Theres a fair case to say Seriki should be starting over Ogbene but at the very least he should be the option of the bench. He was just the player we needed to come on against Preston. Yet we brought Shackleton on and he did nothing but run the ball out of play.

No one is prepared for the Shack attack.

Ogbene needs a spell out of the team, he's been a real disappointment

We haven’t got a decent right sided defender in the squad so he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place really. Seriki is ok going forward but like Burrows is defensively weak. He’s one of a number of sub standard options we have in that position so I don’t see the clamour for him to be playing every game.

He's new, playing in a poorly performing side, getting back to full fitness and is basically playing out if position. He might need a rest or taking out, but I wouldn't give up on him as a signing.
As for Seriki, Wilder is keeping him out of the squad for a reason. He (Wilder) doesn’t have much previous with falling out with players on a personal level, so I think its harsh for people to assume 'his face doesn't fit'.

It all depends, the cross at Oxford was perfect way to start, it is interesting to see where he plays with ROI. He doesn't last a full 90 with the longest spell being 77 minutes. however apart from one occasion against Armenia in the most recent game where he was brought on in a RW/RWB role. Every other time he has played down the left. I don't know if they like to try the inverted wingers type however one match he was in a 2 up front against Armenia on 9th Sept. I am not sure if we are playing him in to his strengths or can he play elsewhere possibly, there must be a reason Ireland play him down the left so often.

Hungary 6 Sept
Subbed ON at 66 mins for LB Doherty

Armenia 9 Sept
Started first half as Left Striker subbed OFF at HT

Portugal 11 Oct
Started Left hand side in behind lone striker but in front of mid almost like a LW/AM subbed OFF at 77 mins

Armenia 14th Oct
Subbed ON at 64 mins For Coleman playing RW/RWB

i'm fed up with blades this year. Playoff killed me & looking back why were we not playing Callum O'Hare for back end of season. Now I am just f#cked off with Siriki always the first to be dropped. We will lose this lad if not careful. He will be a star one day (now for us). Fleetingly last season Seriki and Brookes played together and tore teams apart down the right. get him in & give him a run with Brookes.

From what I had heard I expected Ogbene to have speed and skill.
He has had the opportunity to move the ball beyond the full back and accelerate to beat his man, but I cannot recollect him ever doing this, in fact he usually turns back infield.
Skill wise he does not offer much more than your average championship winger.
To date he is a disappointment and for that reason if nothing else, Seriki should be in the bench to provide an option

Exactly as I'm seeing him. His tendency to stop and play an easy ball back, rather than driving at the opposition was really evident against Preston.
He needs to be a lot more positive

Just like the play off final when he dropped Rak Sakyi.

I'd like to see Ogbene and Seriki used as impact subs. Bring them both on in the 70th minute and let them just run at defenders. I guarantee it will have a noticeable and positive effect on the game, but we all know that Cannon is the preferred choice for absolutely no justifiable reason whatsoever.

I'm not saying Wilder is right or wrong, but he said the same thing about Brooks last season, about not working hard enough in training, which isn't unheard of in younger players.

Fast forward a few months and look how Brooks finished last season, got back into the squad, few appearances and two goals off the bench, gets back into the team in the last few games and looks quite good.

Look at Burrows, called out by Wilder in one of his interviews for his performances and dropped from the starting 11, comes of the bench against Blackburn and gets a goal and an assist.

Sometimes players just need to hear something like that to encourage them to work harder.

seriki and burrows are both better wingbacks than full backs in a flat back 4 we should stick to this system for the next 2 games at least and hamer has to come straight back in when fit even though he hasnt been great this season

No they didn't Brookes was hot n cold and too much cold he should never have played in that Play Off Final ahead of Raki (though rumour is that we would have had a large chunk to pay Palace if he did play................. ambishun eh)

In some ways you do wonder if he wonders what the point is. He got the ball in the box vs Oxford for the goal, but usually if he got past his man who would be in the box to pick out, or it could be that he is worried about his injury reoccurring still. Either way I have seen him play better than he is currently doing
