When Wilder went I was hoping for him to be replaced by someone with a history of some success.
The owners decided to roll the dice and appoint Selles who had very little experience and won nothing. It looks like he will be replaced soon and this will probably be for the best as he does seem tactically inept and we could soon become too entrenched in a relegation battle. I do not however condone the behaviour of our fans towards him this afternoon and found it quite sickening. It should also be remembered that until the last few days our recruitment policy has left him with serious gaps in the squad.
One of Wilder's problems was his massive ego and self importance. If he were reappointed he would become unbearable. He achieved a lot for us over the years but those achievements are now history and should be left there.
Note to RAP51 ...all great managers have big egos - Clough, Mourinho, Ferguson, Klopp, Guardiola

To complete a great day brewster scores
We got him fitter last season and Derby enjoying the benefit and also probably playing him in his correct position. I still think back to that amazing feeling when that second goal went in at Wembley and since that moment has the whole club never recovered. Seems that way. Hope we can turn it around soon.

Another bad performance, no shots at goal, and giving the ball away, Tanganga man of the match in my opinion, if it wasn't for him, we could have lost 4-0, no goals in five games, no points. Bottom of the championship, going into the international break. Selles has got to be sacked now. Otherwise, we will be battling against relegation.
No pattern of play, players looked lost, no plan. You could hear the Bladefans singing " You're getting sacked in the morning. Singing Wilder, one of our own, " Act now, new owners, appoint a manager who knows what he is doing.

The problem is the formation he is using combined with his team selection
433. We know that midfield is not effective mainly due to the lack of speed in O'Hare and Hamer. Brooks and Barry don't get back quickly either. If you are looking for fast ball to the wingers to create chances. Why would you then use inverted wings and slow down and limit the chances you make.

Take them on by going outside and whipping the ball in. Campbell is completely lost as he is static in the box when the ball does get crossed. Rarely gets a through ball in front of him.

The team also defend too narrow. We played with wingbacks for years. But it looks like Selles and the players do not know what to do when facing that formation. Both Boro wingbacks were in space and easy to find all day. Switch the play and the wingback receiving the ball has time to take it down and start to run with it before he meets any of our team. Giving them options to cross or to run at the defence or to wander infield.

Tactically inept and hopeless at in game adjustments.

What change was needed, that couldn't have happened with Wilder at the helm, at least for a little longer?
It’s a fair point, but the board took the decision, at the time a decision I agreed with.

Looks like we were both wrong.

I’ll ask this though, Wilder isn’t in another management role. Just saying

very unlucky blades to loose we didnt take our chances away get off his back no need to boo him hes a great fella ruben sells show him respect stop trying to get him the sack he will come good and win you never like continental bosses look at slav you dont like no one youll one them out geta grip give him a chance to play 433 no one is good enough not even conte or special one.we will win, back him like i am.you just want him to fail because hes continental llike me but ill be a blades for life ,,chow..utb..

What's crazy is even with this atrocious start to the season our next opponent Ipswich are only 3 points ahead of us. They still haven't won a game yet.

Our travelling support at least were able to have a laugh at our own expense today. Thought that deflated anything the Boro fans could throw at us.

Say what you like about Selles, it took balls to come out and face us today.

Or stupidity and a complete lack of awareness of his limitations.
