Sounds more like a one for the future especially if we get the other two done. That said with rnd and potentially Robinson going he will get chances.

The next Jonas Wirmola perhaps!

On Wirmola, I've neve figured out why Harry let him go back to Sweden so soon, ironically to Malmo. He looked a real find.
Finally … somebody else who thought the same. One of the best prospects I’ve ever seen at the Lane … and strangely just released.
No idea what happened for the rest of his career but he looked a great find at the time.

Like this guy already. He's got a bit of "I'm not gonna fuck about" attitude which is what we need.

He's young but if he becomes a regular starter definite captain material in time.

Problem is we do not have a visible club strategy including recruitment and communication. Many well run clubs throughout Europe have strategies that maintain and support the direction the club wants to go in. This inevitably includes a Director of Football/Sporting Director to predominantly oversee the recruitment and playing side right through from academy to first team. We all know that the turn over of managers/coaches is high but clubs with a well thought out, implemented strategy are able to change manager/coach and and keep the "ship" sailing in the right direction.

One example, albeit at a much higher level than us, is Bayern Munich - last 7 seasons 5 different coaches - 6 Bundesliga titles and 1 Champions League win. Despite Vincent Kompany overseeing Burnley's relegation he slotted into the Bayern strategy and hey presto another Bundesliga title. They have a world class club strategy including an experienced Board member with responsibility for sport and an experienced Sporting Director. This maintains club stability and promotes success.

100% agree and you are spot on. This is exactly my view. Where do we want to be as a club / where do we see ourselves? How are we going to reach there - what's the strategy? Nisse is mentioning in his interview that "the club presented a really good plan for me"- I like what I hear but I also get curious. Is expected to start? Category? Will he go out on loan? Etc etc

Also echoing the 'visible'. I think it's quite obvious that we are taking a different direction since a couple of months back, but there is a big gap in how it's communicated. We don't really hear anything - or did I miss something? I would prefer a more transparent approach - it would benefit everyone. Especially when it comes to the recruitments over the summer as well as why they brought Selles in. When looking at this project from the outside, it's a lot easier to criticise, complain and questioning the decisions that were taken instead of getting behind them. This is even more important in the initial phase as there will without a doubt take some time for the new manager to implement his ideas.

You mean spending 2hrs translating things from Swedish to English????

Do you have any thoughts on Filip Beckman? Seems to be on his way to WBA.
A quick look at his stats, looks more promising than NZ that we've signed... but I've never seen either to properly comment.

Was it Rowley or Harris that was interested in him?
Not the clipping I have somewhere but just saw this on X saying we were interested, my clipping will obviously have been around the same time, but as far as Rowley or Harris goes it could still be either, going by Keegans age it could have been at the end of Rowleys reign or the beginning of Harris’s. Although I’m tending to go for Harris as Keegan was really starting to fly in 69/70 season and attracting attention.

An early example of us monitoring a player?

When will he be available to play? Because we need to see Zatterstom early, warrants a chance because we cannot reasonably persist with someone else’s young defender in Bindon, unless we know for sure that Zatterstom is simply not ready this season.

Keegan was rejected by Coventry after a trial when a schoolboy, Jimmy Hill telling him he was too small to make the grade.
And, from memory, Keegan tried to make himself taller. I'm not sure of the details - was it a homemade mediaeval torture rack, or hanging from monkey bars, or something else - but that was the story I read when I was a kid.

Look Kevin, this is your only chance to leave Scunthorpe.

Peter Shilton did that also, used to hang off the bannister with weights around his ankles to stretch himself out in the hope of making himself bigger.
