Has he practiced his 'fuck off Forest' spiel yet?!

Our record signing. Likely to stay that way. What a world!

A very sincere GLLTL.

A nice kid who’s had very bad luck with injuries and a massive (and somewhat exaggerated) transfer fee hanging like an albatross round his neck at a relatively young age.

As far as I can tell he did well to overcome his setbacks to get regular championship football and certainly contributed last season including the winning goal to do the double over Yesterday FC. Funnily enough that was the final nail in their push for the play offs last season. Whilst it was never really on the cards, a flukey promotion for them would have been disaster for us.

I hope that’s what he’s remembered for anyway and gets a decent enough reception when he returns.

A change is probably just what he needs. His move to the Lane just didn't work for us or him.

All the best Rhian.

GLTTL, relieved we can move on now, hopefully someone else signs Mcburnie and put that option bed

We don't do very well when we spunk the money. Here's our top 10 transfer arrivals
  1. Brewster
  2. Berge
  3. Archer
  4. Ramsdale
  5. McBurnie
  6. Hamer
  7. Souza
  8. Cannon
  9. Mousset
  10. Robinson
I make that 7 Wilder signings and 3 Hecky signings.
Factually correct but it feels harsh tarring Hecky with Archer. It was a glorified loan deal.

Also, noticed it’s a 2 year contract, not the greatest vote of confidence in his durability is it?

And to think some experts on here were convinced he wouldn't be playing above non-league 😅

If they are paying him in line with their current highest player which according to the certain websites is Matt Clarke who is on £20K a week, that's just over a £1mill a year without bonuses. It is interesting that they have only opted for an initial 2 year contract so there is definitely caution amongst the owners. Not sure if they would want to upset the wage structure too much especially amongst a stable dressing room by paying him £30k+ a week like us.

Genuine good luck to him, always tried his best but unfortunately always injured and nowhere near good enough to justify the transfer fee.

Will get a big cheer from me on his return for the swillsboro goal alone - that is if he's fit to play 😅

Let's be honest takes him months to get fit and when he does he's a bang average championship striker/winger. Rather give someone else a chance to shine.

Decent move for him. Derby are a decent big club and quite close to Sheffield and I’d say…a bottom half Championship club fits his level.

He came with a great reputation….in fact some Liverpool fans were angry he left saying their coaches believed he could be the new Michael Owen.
However what a disaster of a signing….injured almost through out his contract….which isn’t his fault.

However my issue was when he was on the comeback trail….his composure in front of goal was terrible.
Even his technique as a striker seemed poor because he always went for power and tended to blast it straight at the keeper.

However you could see he has allround ability regards passing and awareness and when moved into midfield he was decent for us without ever being great
He also clearly cared about the club, good influence on the training pitch and gave 100% when playing matches…so I give him credit for that.

Our fans give him stick but I’d put him in a similiar category to Sam McCallum.
Great attitude, quite versatile and decent ability, at is best probably average Championship standard and a great squad player to have on the bench.

As long as we’d offered squad type, reduced wages then I’d have been happy to keep him as a squad player.

Can understand how some feel bitter about the high transfer fee and wasted money
But unlike some of our other players don’t think we should have any malice towards him
And I hope and expect he’ll get a good reception when he returns to play at the Lane.

Scored more in 20 appearances for Swansea than he managed in 5 years for us. Mostly not his fault of course but I don't remember him looking particularly promising even before the first injury. Not a bad punt on a free but Derby must know they're taking on a doer-upper.
