With Leicester going back down to Championship, should we perhaps consider a move for Ndidi, thought he was older but he's only 28.

Not been a good season for Leicester but on his day he always seems to have something about him for a defensive midfielder, got premier league experience as well.

Could he be a decent option?

Signed a new contract through 2027 this summer. Reportedly on 75 grand a week. Makes zero sense as an attempted permanent deal and I see no reason why Leicester would consider a loan which doesn't involve us paying a very large percentage of his wages. If we were to loan someone on "enormous" wages in the event of promotion it needs to be a striker, if we learned anything from last season it's that having some legitimate form of PL level goal threat is a requirement, not a nice to have

Didn't realise he'd signed a new contract in the summer.

Though with all the talk about them facing sanctions from the EFL (from last season), I wonder if they might have to sell some of their higher earners in the summer, especially with 2 years left on his deal.

Seems unrealistic. Though, again, I've not seen him play much recently. When they first signed him he was superb in the Prem. That was probably 5 or 6 years ago - was getting linked with the rich boys of the league.

Please no Ndidi and to think some on here wanted to sign Conor Cody too, deary, deary me

If we could afford him I'd say yes, more capable than anyone else we have and even he isn't constantl.

Also he's probably on a hundred grand a week, at least.

So , in a nutshell , are Leicester going to start this coming season with a points deduction ?

Double figures apparently.

Meant to be in trouble with both the EFL and the EPL over their losses, plus that loophole they used to avoid punishment last time they were in the championship has been fixed so they can't use it anymore.

Edit: from last week but this explains the Leicester situation in a bit more detail.

I get the impression that they bought promotion after being in admin years ago and have been rule-bending ever since.

Yet all the history books will show is that they are past winners of the PL.

Football is so bent.

The relegation spots will be a separate league of clubs with points deductions

Yay and nay. Two seasons ago Forest and Everton were given points deductions but still finished comfortably ahead of us.

And that is the problem because clubs that 'cheat' beat the system and enjoy being able to use better players to win the extra points and even after points deductions are still able to use those players. The only way to stop this is to hit them hard by relegation without parachute payments. Maybe in Man City's case if found guilty of multiple cases then relegate by an equivalent number of divisions. I know it will never happen but I for one would love to see something like that.

There is so much money involved in football that we would be nieve if we thought otherwise.
Even with VAR some of the decisions that referees make you have to query their integrity.
Nearly every other sport has rigorous testing for drugs and high profile cases make the news. When was the last time you heard of a footballer failing a drugs test.

The £200m they’re allowed to overspend is clearly worth the points difference as they retained the quality assets they’d bought.
This season with the two clubs in question there’s no benefit left for them to gain. They’d both be in a fair bit of bother if a double digit points deduction was applied. Wednesday for relegation and Leicester for any hope of promotion.

Would certainly help our promotion prospects no end if this comes to pass.

Naysayers might say it hurts us as we're more likely to end up playing them in the playoffs, but don't forget we'd lose in the playoffs whoever we got so that's a moot point.
