Competely agree on Walker. He's still being picked for England yet some of our fans don't want him back? Madness.I listen to Kyle Walkers podcast a lot with him and Brownie.
It’s very clear they both love the Blades and Walker wants to come back, eventually. He also still wants to continue playing at the top for a couple of years, so I could see him moving to a side in the Champions League first.
As for wanting him back. Anyone saying they wouldn’t want him even for a season would be mad. His experience alone would be huge for the younger players as well as the experience players in the squad. His pace is still incredible and he’s kept himself in fantastic shape.
Money would be the only reason not to try and do a deal, from ourside
On the other side, I wouldn’t want Maguire, too long at Man U and his attitude just seems all wrong for me. No doubt he’s still got some ability, but I just don’t like the cut of his jib anymore
It depends on what we are signing him for, if we go up tomorrow and stay in the PL for 1 season (all likelihood) he will be 37 if we got promoted the following year. We probably get a season out of him. Would he come to us if we are in the Championship - not so sure, current rumours are AC Milan are after him, if more than a 2 year deal if that comes true then probably be only in a coaching capacityCompetely agree on Walker. Completely disagree on Maguire. We looked miles better defensively with Souttar in the team. Maguire is a top-half Premier League version of Souttar and if there was any way of doing a deal we should be all over it. I very much doubt it would happen though, he's got another year on his Manchester contract and they're not going to want to sell to a relegation rival.
I get the impression that Maguire, along with many players at Man U, has just become jaded by the club's effective non-existence in the last 10-15 years since Fergie retired. Every season is just a tedious grind through to May, with very little of note. Multiple times of missing the Champions League, and now missing out on Europe altogether. On the other side, I wouldn’t want Maguire, too long at Man U and his attitude just seems all wrong for me. Walker is still in the top 10 best right backs in the PL. EasilyIf we go up then it's a no for me. If we don't go up then a 1 year contract would be fine. He would rip it up in the Championship - not so much now in the Prem.

well according to tabloid reports he cant keep it in his pants so probably does need the money for divorces/child payments etc etcOnly if he came on massively reduced wages & let’s be honest he doesn’t need the dough .. as said in the thread potentially a good mentor for Seriki ..but it would have to soon don’t want a Walker at very end of his career if that was the case the money could be better spent elsewhere![]()
Back 5 is dead. Teams committing that many players defensively can't compete on the transitions. Burrows - Maguire - Ahmedhodzic - Walker as a back four with Arblaster, Souza and Peck patrolling in front of them and we might stand a chance.
Just because he is shocking for Man U doesnt mean he wouldnt be an asset for us. I agree there is going to be an exodus at Man U soon. Only problem is money. Maguire still comes to watch the odd game at the Lane. He would just cost too much.I get the impression that Maguire, along with many players at Man U, has just become jaded by the club's effective non-existence in the last 10-15 years since Fergie retired. There are horrendous, deep rooted issues at Old Trafford, which nobody in a position to change them has even considered addressing, and it results in the players and management being hung out to dry. I think a change of scenery would do him the world of good, and I also think that that could be back with us.
Unless man city are happy to sell him for around £2m to us and hes happy to take 60/70% pay cut, then no lol.AC Milan don’t want him, Citeh don’t want him…is it time?
Just saying…
You must be a happy manSo far
Kyle Walker
Tommy Doyle
Oli Mcburnie
All linked.
I don’t think it’s time for him, but might be for us. Financially it would be a heavy price for us, wages wise.AC Milan don’t want him, Citeh don’t want him…is it time?

Would be some move if we could get him, but think it’s unlikely this seasonAh the romance of the former player, a shure crowd pleaser move if true..
FFS, looking back wards again.Walker wants to come back, eventually. He also still wants to continue playing at the top for a couple of years
its very unlikely but might just be a move that interests our new american owners i dont think money would be an issue with kyle just a question if he wants to stay in a top european league or go to saudiWould be some move if we could get him, but think it’s unlikely this season
I think money would be an issue, as would the dropping down now whilst he considers that he’s still got some time left at the top. But yes, certainly worth exploringits very unlikely but might just be a move that interests our new american owners i dont think money would be an issue with kyle just a question if he wants to stay in a top european league or go to saudi
It would be an audacious move to bring him in and would be a real signal of intent.FFS, looking back wards again.
From his comment I interpret his view of this club to be backwards. By his own assessment at his age and earnings he’s too good for us at the moment. When no one wants him cause he’s lost he speed, fitness etc then he’ll come for a cushy ride.
Feck off, not the attitude we need. We want young hungry players with years of improving not declining ahead. Yangs proved that.
Exactly this.FFS, looking back wards again.
