Don Badman.Sunderland fans hate him too, there's a thread on him
Dong Goodman.Don Badman.
He still can't help himself. He was complimentary to us then around 20 mins in basically admitted he was selfishly biassed. They even mentioned the co commentators disagreeing with him but he's stuck to his guns. What a cunt

Don Goodman, in the LS postcode area.Apart from Ally McCoist and ian Wright, I can't think of anyone else who is universally liked on commentary.
Same. But on the mention of Ally McCoist, he was far and away the best part of the Europa League final last night. Absolutely brilliant co-commentary.Apart from Ally McCoist and ian Wright, I can't think of anyone else who is universally liked on commentary.
I didn’t hear him say a single positive thing about us, unsurprisingly. It felt like a Sunderland podcast, all from their point of view, how much it means to them, how good they have been. Curtis Davies was pro-Blades, but Goodman is his usual self.I listened to the Second Tier pod during the night, and was in and out of sleep so may have misheard.
But, did I hear Goodman saying that we were actually the best team in the division this year, and that the three losses in a week at the back end weren’t representative?
Good summary but if you were to put the whole transcript through sentiment analysis software and ask if it was positive or negative towards us, I know what it would say. They spent most of the pod saying how great Sunderland were, forensic analysis of their players, hardly touched on us.Just going through this Second Tier pod he's been on. Here's some of the stuff he's saying:
- We were "by a street the 3rd best team in the league";
- He thinks that Sunderland were the better side across the 2 meetings in the regular season;
- Sunderland are a far different proposition to Bristol City, particularly in forward areas, and in a manner which has hurt us previously this season
- Both team's opponent is very different to the team they beat in the semi finals
- Both sides have players of real quality, who can hurt the opposition
- "I wouldn't have too much between the two teams"
- If you're Sunderland, you can say "it's written in the stars". "Bonkers" that Dan Ballard squeezes that header in.
- Blades have been the best team at winning while not playing their best in the Championship this season
- Re; the Rob Dickie red card: "Technically, by the letter of the law, yes (it is a red card). I just didn't think there would be an uproar on the night, if the ref gave a pen and a yellow. I was being a little bit selfish that, as a contest, that tie was over at that point."
That's all within the first 23 minutes. I don't entirely agree with some of his points, but I don't think any of them are especially disrespectful towards us. His articulation of his thinking around the red card at Bristol, I understand, but I fundamentally oppose. You can't pick and choose whether to give a red or yellow card, based on ensuring that the "spectacle" of play off football remains intact.
He doesn't make it any better by raising an argument around Kieffer Moore "falling forwards" when he's pulled from behind. Unless he's suggesting that the act of falling to the floor is a pre-requisite for a foul to be called by the referee, but even if he is, that's still bollocks.
Yeah I'm still listening at the moment. He's just gone on about how Sunderland are fantastic because of all the academy talent they've brought through. Clearly forgot that we've played 5 or 6 of our own academy players this season, and had others on the bench. He's colossally dense.Good summary but if you were to put the whole transcript through sentiment analysis software and ask if it was positive or negative towards us, I know what it would say. They spent most of the pod saying how great Sunderland were, forensic analysis of their players, hardly touched on us.
I can’t stand the bloke. Curtis Davies was good, put our case a bit.

Me too. Snap.There is a song which gets sung about Sky Tv quite often, could we get Sky TV is ******* **** sung for one round, then change the words to Don Goodman for the next in the tenth minute - I am happy to keep that going for most of the first half!!
