Hello from a Bristol City fan in peace.

Ahead of our forthcoming game on Thursday I’m putting together the opening post for our forum’s (One Team in Bristol, https://www.otib.co.uk/?_fromLogin=1) match thread, which will be posted the day before the match.

I would like to include some perspectives from your fans so if anybody would like to share info please do, anything would be appreciated, fans thoughts about the game, players who have represented both clubs, tales from when we’ve met previously, a fans view on your season, previous play-off memories, etc, etc.

Look forward to receiving info and to a great game.

Has Seriki dislocated his shoulder in the past .They might have helped it back but Thursday should be too soon for him. Tough to come on for such a short time and miss playoff games he is a handful

Quite like Manning, think he's done a good job with what looks like an average squad from the outside.

We've had a great season but fell at the final hurdle. Not arsed about going up, which will make our inevitable defeat easier to take.

Massive gap in points at the end of the season but both games were mighty close. We got 2 late goals at your place to win it amd I thought you played well at the Lane. Manning has u playing good football and I expect both games to be very close. We are clearly favourites but that doesn't mean much in the playoffs

Worst playoff record of the 92, 8 playoffs all ended in defeat. Including 4 (?) losses at Big WembZ / Millenium,

Feels like the dam might break this time though. Up Dem Blades.

100 years since we last won a match at Wembley. 25 April 1925. 100 years later it has to be our time again.
With our track record brush aside Bristol City and then lose miserably to Sunderland or Coventry in the final.
One can hope though we break the duck.

We’re terrible in the Play Offs, even worse if we make it to Wembley.

Both games against your lot were tight games and we’re not in good form at the moment, I think it’s safe to say we’re not overly confident about the next few weeks.

Then again, I just saw that your fans pitch invaded for finishing in the play offs and for that alone I hope we smash you 8-0 in both legs.

Other than that, all the best

The numbers suggest that we should breeze through to the final... but we all know that football is more than just facts and figures.

For what it's worth, I was more impressed by how Bristol City played against us, than any other team this season. And the next time we're in the market for a manager, I'd want us to look at Liam Manning.

That said, I think our defensive solidity should be enough to see us through. If we had had to deal with a more potent strike force, we might not have taken 4 points from the 2 league games. As long as we are prepared for efforts to get in behind us, we should do okay.

We've been here far too many times.

Looking forward to a summer without football and switching off from it all.

Wilder needs the summer to get the squad strengthened at the back, wheeling and dealing with the inevitable sales of possibly Souza and / or Hamer and / or Anel and bringing in some more balance to the squad in readiness for a new Championship season.

Good Luck!

Of all the teams in that part of the table, Bristol City caused us the most issues.

I would have rather scored an own goal today to play Blackburn Rovers.

However I don't know much about Bristol Coty recently to know if they're still as good as they were at Bramall Lane that Tuesday night recently.

In terms of tales of previous games, me and my 18yo lad do a burger-from-a-van rating for every ground we visit. Bristol City is currently at the top of the pile not just for this season (18 grounds) but of all time in all leagues, following our visit in November. Also it still ranks as the best away day of the season. Nothing like an academy lad scoring his first senior goal to level things up, then getting an injury time winner to send the away end mental. Brilliant away day, and hoping for more of the same on Thursday, no doubt in a packed Ashton Gate this time

Thanks for posting and welcome

My very first game at Bramall Lane was in September 1970 when we drew with BC 3-3 after being 3-0 down with 20 mins or so to play . We went onto win promotion to the First Division with arguably one of our finest ever sides .

My dad was a died in the wool Wednesday supporter but my uncles on my mums side were all Blades - from that day onwards a Blade fir life was born , I’m not always sure that’s a good thing but that game was the catalyst.

Can’t wish you good luck in the playoffs of course but it will be a very close thing imo .

Gap means fuck all. You played us at your place and were the better team. This is literally 50/50 in my head, the best team on the nights wins blah blah.

You can keep your one team in Bedminster nonsense. I would love it, LOVE IT if we beat you.

Up the blades and the gas.

I'll get back to you when I've managed to book 2 days off work. I like Bristol as a city but fuck me...how many hairy minge crusty fanny types does one city need?

Brilliant ST holders can claim their seats but why not put that in email to ST holders in advance to stop panic? Just post it on Facebook, not everyone uses social mediaIMG_1397.webp
