Cappy
wishful thinking
For almost an entire minute I thought the mic on his shirt was the label hanging out. I'm sat here slagging them off, "the fucking muppets, how have they not noticed that. We look tinpot"
Time for another coffee I reckon

He was subbed in in the FA Cup quarter final in 2020. But that's it I believe.Has he ever played against us?
Probably for Arsenal in the 19/30 and 20/21 seasons.Has he ever played against us?
Jesus. How old is he?Probably for Arsenal in the 19/30 and 20/21 seasons.
Approximately 2,025 years old in November, if he'd lived.Jesus. How old is he?
Those using his lack of appearances for Palace are missing the fued he's had with Glasner. Looks like he's been frozen out ever since Glasner arrived, some spat after a game but sounds like they just didn't get on.
We've all heard stories about players being frozen out, doesn't mean they're not capable. He said in the linked report he's been training on his own 'professionally'. Hopefully he's also been getting game time for the u21's, might not be the same standard but at least he'd have a level of match fitness. It's also worth noting a CB doesn't necessarily need the same level of fitness as other positions.

Why Rob Holding has been exiled to Crystal Palace U21 as 'disagreement' revealed
LEAVING Arsenal was a momentous decision for Rob Holding. The versatile defender appeared embedded at the Emirates after seven years as a popular squad member, picking up two FA Cup winne…www.thesun.co.uk
If he's already been playing u21's, then we're probably at the 'couple of cameos' stage, then it doesn't look so bad. Guess Wilder will have weighed up all of this already. But the proof will be in the number and quality of appearances, which we'll just have to wait and seeAppreciate he's not been out injured for 18 months, but he has missed that amount of time playing at a competitive level.
When we've been phasing players back into first team football, we've done so over half a dozen games (couple of apps in the 23s, a 90, couple of cameos off the bench in the first team)... by the time we've done that with Holding, almost half his loan will have expired.
He must be good if he's replacing 5 playersThe other 5 loanees must be mighy pissed off![]()
Palace fan here.
No idea what to think of this one.
His feud with Glasner was well documented. However, he joined months before Glasner and still had no games. Arsenal let him go for £4m, which is peanuts for a Premier League defender.
And yet, he played 100 games for Arsenal.
The whole situation is just bizarre. A total wildcard. Could be a genius signing, could be a terrible one.
I'd love to have a more concrete opinion, but like most Palace fans, I've never seen him play!!!
Jesus. How old is he?
I'd guess he will make a sub appearance. CW said he will be involved todayReally interested to see if he starts today. This is a very winnable match for him to build his match sharpness and get to know the team in a competitive game.
Feels unlikely we'd put a new CB in against Middlesbrough...?
I agree with what you are saying, but the way Wilder talked about the lad and his pedigree with Arsenal, I reckon he’s a dead cert starter, especially given what you said about him finishing his loan spell before he gets a full game!Appreciate he's not been out injured for 18 months, but he has missed that amount of time playing at a competitive level.

Got to agree. With a commanding CB we probably wouldn't have conceded at least one of the first 2 goals
We've shown perfectly why I didn't want us to get Holding
It basically meant that Anel and Robinson would inevitably continue for a while. Holding was never one to come straight in
We needed someone ready to come straight in and it doesn't get more ready than Dunne, who'd played every game and is having a great season. But as with Kenny, we hesitated over pennies when we'd just utterly spunked 10m on a 4th choice striker
Then we topped it by signing a RB so poor the defensive midfielder signing is likely to take his place
It was a stupid, ill thought out transfer window and I blame the owners more than Wilder
Dunne has been playing RB for Millwall, so not sure how that would have helped us in the centre. With a commanding CB we probably wouldn't have conceded at least one of the first 2 goals

How is this window the owners' fault? Excluding Nwachukwu, Cáceres and possibly Clarke the signings were all Wilder targets. With a commanding CB we probably wouldn't have conceded at least one of the first 2 goals

Not a great keeper, shat the bed on crosses…Approximately 2,025 years old in November, if he'd lived.![]()
Panic signing.
Only way that can look at it.
It’s starting to look that way. This was the No 1 priority. Basically we had all of January to replace Soutar …..fu££ked about for weeks ….. and ended up with Holding late on Deadline Day. And so far he’s played 1/2 a game!!!!Panic signing.
Only way that can look at it.
Steve Simonsen is the true messiah! Not a great keeper, shat the bed on crosses…
nail on the head said it a month ago along with others on here keep playing anel and robbo together and we wont finish top 2 if wilder doesnt want to drop one of them for holding he has to go back to a back 3 and put holding in the middle of em yes it effects our formation further up the pitch but imo its the only way we finish top 2 this seasonDunne has been playing RB for Millwall, so not sure how that would have helped us in the centre.
The facts are the Robbo/Anel partnership ships too many goals so Holding has to come in for Robbo.
He’s not the messiah, he’s a very naughty boy…Steve Simonsen is the true messiah!
He obviously just isn't match fit... Bloke hadn't kicked a ball in a match for 18 months (something daft like that). Everyone would know this as it's common knowledge he was frozen out and therefore obvious he wouldn't be able to slot straight in so on that basis I'd have to agree it's a panic signing.Panic signing.
