I was hoping for a commanding Souttar or Chris Morgan type to compliment Anel but guessing he's not that from reading the comments on Darling?

If we are planning on playing a Hamza Souza defensive pairing in certain matches during the run in then we’ll need to reconfigure how we set up slightly even if the formation stays the same. We might need to be more progressive with the ball out of defence than we have been using the robust midfield pairing to help out and compensate for that maybe exposing us more at the back.

Probably the best attacking centre half in the division. If we were still playing with a 3 at the back, encouraging our CBs to go forward, he'd be great.

As it is, we're looking for a commanding CB to replace Souttar and compliment Anel.
Harry Darling doesn't look like that, his defensive stats don't stack up well against the rest of the division.

I wouldn't mind having him as an option, but for the money it would cost and I'm not sure I'd pursue it.
I thought he was younger and therefore maybe worth a punt for talent but he's not good enough to play in a two. Too error prone. Doesn't seem to communicate (I've seen a few Swansea games recently and he's part of their kamikaze defending) very well either. Anel needs supervision. Much better suited to the LWB role, imo.

My mate who is a Swans fan says Harry Darling is a brilliant centre back and is better than Cabango

Grimes and Darling for £5million package deal imo
Grimes is meant to be off to Coventry isn't he, apparently he's keen on that move as well.

Isn't HD out of contract this summer or next summer, if so we could probably get him for a cheapish fee.

And Swansea are meant to be getting quite a bit of cash from the Morgan Whittaker deal as well.

I trust my Swansea supporting mate
All about opinions.

You regularly quote a solitary mate supporting another club about a player we're linked with or signing. Nothing wrong with that but you also poo poo other poster's mates' opinions about players if it doesn't suit your agenda or appears critical of our recruitment.

I trust in scouts or season ticket holders of clubs who employ players that we are linked to rather than amateur scouts like you who rely on stats from Football Manager.

My Swans mate was very happy with the transfer fee we paid for McBurnie and said he wasnt even worth half the fee. He liked Brewster despite that he was at Swansea for a short spell before he got injured. He was shocked at the fee we paid for him. He is gutted that Darling and Grimes are likely to leave this window.

Just be typical of us to sign a player who has a 2 match ban for serious foul play on one of our players that lead to a scrummage that subsequently cost us a £80,000 fine.
Other than there's no charge

I've never played football manager and I'm not a scout.

Just someone who has watched a lot of football at all levels in my time and is allowed an opinion, but notably doesn't think that opinion makes me right.

First paragraph would be to suggest the professionals don't get it wrong.
Second paragraph tells us that they do.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to be sceptical about signings...
